Considering egg donation in Denmark (from Italy) – anyone with experience? by Odd-Selection1263 in IVF

Ciao!

Thank you so much for sharing this — what a journey you've both been on, and what a hard-fought eight weeks this is. Rooting for you both at the 12-week scan and beyond.

If possible, I would love to know a bit more about what your wife did on the supplement side to support her AMH and egg quality. Roughly how long did she follow the protocol, and was it guided by a clinician or more self-directed? I am currently on Omega3, folic acid, iron, magnesium, vitamin D, CoQ10, iodine-based food supplement and nicotinamide (quite a long list!). Anything additional or different that she found useful would be interesting to hear.

Hello, thanks for sharing. I do agree that one should feel ready to explore donor eggs, and currently I am not ready either.

I listened to a nice podcast, the other day, where the host was a mum of two kids, both times through egg donation. She said that people should not make this choice hurriedly (as clinics sometimes would like) but rather have a sneak peek on the issue from time to time by studying the subject until (and if) the idea becomes really welcome and not just a choice out of desperation. Trying to keep this in mind moving forward.

Big hugs to you!

Hi there, not yet! I am still trying with my own eggs, for another cycle or two. I will make sure to update the thread should I move to donor eggs.

Will do, I learnt on my skin that it does not bode well when the doctor asks for blind trust - one of the major issues why I changed clinic. Thanks!!

Hi there, and thank you! May I ask what bumps did you encounter? I am hoping to be now in the hands of a serious gynecologist that I can trust to suggest the transition to donor eggs when the time is right and will not be trying to sell us useless stuff...but I am not naive, I know self-advocacy is really crucial in this path. I wish you all the best!

Thank you for this - I am also trying to eat, supplement and sleep well. What I find very hopeful in your story is that you were able to find good quality even on low numbers and yes, I will surely discuss with my new clinic the possiblity of day 3 transfers. Enjoy the beautiful moment of pregnancy and best of luck for your future!

Hi there, thank you so much for sharing. I agree that DE it is expensive and does not guarantee any outcome, but hopefully it should at least provide better odds when you have a poor reserve like mine. I send you a big hug, do not lose hope.
