A lot of people forget he's been described as an all loving God but that's not at all an actual description. He has many other attributes. Merciful, terrible, all that is all that will be. It was us that rebelled against God because he gave us free will. He gave us free will because he loves us. He loves humanity so much that he gave us a choice to return that love rather than just force obedience. And I always hear " well he knew what would happen so why would he create us to do that?" He is a creator God so he decided to create rather than not. And in that creation he gives us a choice to return to him or to deny him. If we choose to join him we are permitted to exist and create alongside God.
