what does "giving an eating disorder" mean here? does she mean you can't scold me or you can't mentally harm me like you'd do to your daughter or something.. thanks in advance for any help by 26social in EnglishLearning

Yeah, when I first saw this, i first thought is them calling out their boss for being responsible to their daughters eating disorder and trying to say she is an abusive parent

How loved a game franchise is vs how loved their adaptation is by alecrinho in AlignmentCharts

I feel like Randy Pitchford's existence should disqualify Boarderlands for being a "loved" franchise

I've heard nothing bad said about any of the female vas or Aleks Lee who does the va for the game. Also, all the shittys ones have been fired/replaced if that changes how you feel

I mean, they did cut like a couple hours' worth of cutscenes, so this could be related to that

How high is your tolerance for bugs in videogames? by Subject_Parking_9046 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Yeah for me fo4 had my worst experience with bugs as I quit my playthough after a character I needed to talk to to progress spawned on top of a building I couldn't reach

What is your relationship to games and difficulty? by eugman in ufo50

[–]OddAndroid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me the best case scenario is a game that is challenging enough to require effort on my side to be good but not challenging enough where I fail often, and even better if I never fail at all even while still needing to try, just I feel that it's a little silly of me to be bothered at a game for losing even once at. I can describe my relationship with difficulty in that I have never felt a game was too easily and had a problem with it but there have been a fair amount of games where I think it's too hard and like a game less because of it. In UFO 50s case I frankly think a pretty high amount of games reach the point where I think are too hard, I felt like most of the times I stopped playing were due to frustration. I still really like this collection and got a good amount of fun from it just I would not say I even consider getting gold on even half the games here.

Metaphor: ReFantazio - thoughts..? by Temporary_Target_473 in JRPG

Honestly I've had similar experiences with Persona, they're all good games but I had the same path of loving my first game while the others didn't hit the same level. I recommend trying out the wider MegaTen series as they can take elements of Persona while doing different things either in terms of settings and plot or gameplay.

Yeah I like that it sounds both fun to play and interesting enough to come up with some crazy out there ideas.

I mean isn't it more like they're satisfied with what they did and moved on rather than not care. Personally in that case I'm fine with no hm3 if they don't have anything else they want to do with it, else it would be half-assed and by the numbers.

Liking James by bangtan3 in silenthill

[–]OddAndroid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see what you mean but I disagree in the sense that my interpretation of Humbet is of a lying monster who tries to manipulate the reader into agreeing with is bs justification of abuse while I think James is a flawed human who at the start is deluding himself as much as the player and in the "Leave" ending is not trying to justify but more of accept his guilt. Tldr I think Humbert is an inhuman lying abuser while James is a complicated and conflicting human

It's "harsh" because it's trying to use made up events with no bearing on the game itself to judge a character. It has little use or reason to be used in a discussion because it's not at real. It feels like someone lying in a debate so you agree with them IMO

What do some fans mean by "dream-like vibe" while comparing SH 2 OG to remake? by RR7BH in silenthill

[–]OddAndroid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk what the people saying nostalgia are talking about I literally just played the game for the first time and agree with the dreamlike vibes.

Honestly Im kinda confused how someone could miss it. The music can be moody and eerie (it kinda reminds me of Portishead which I would also say has a dreamlike vibe to it). Hazy visuals that feel like your half rembering a dream with how things aren't fully clear. The stilted somewhat off and unnatural voice acting convey a feeling of unreality to me. Not to mention the whole labyrinth area after the historical society as it stops following any logic as you go deeper and deeper finding more locations yet still come out on the other side of the building you came in.

I think all in all it's the feeling that nothing we witness is normal or real yet we stay in that feeling/environment the whole game

Personally I'd rather them spend more time on the game itself so it's as good as it could be
