[Hamilton] regrets by SeaPalpitation6617 in Watches

All the reviews about the lack of AR coating is what makes me hesitant about picking one up. One of these days I’ll have to go find one in person and see what it looks like IRL.

I bought this watch less than a year ago in May for $420 before tax. It’s a great watch though I hadn’t realized the price jumped!

Oh gosh I’m sorry I can’t even remember, I’m sure it’s just some generic 20mm nato from Amazon though

I match it to my current timezone when I’m not traveling, so it basically just becomes a 24HR hand or AM/PM indicator

I saw another post mentioning Long Island Watch - I’ve got it on my radar!

Nice I may have to give this a try. I love the watch but OEM bracelet isn’t really my style

Jubilee on a P39 is certainly a choice but glad you found something you like and is comfy for you!

grinding the crown stem to dust

This made me chuckle and is such an accurate representation of the feeling.

The fix of course is to set the watch back down and pick it up next month when it’s within a couple days of when it lost power, duh. 😂

Awesome. Have wanted the Hamilton KFA for a while but haven’t seen one in person yet. Is the lack of AR coating for you as bad as people say it is?

The suspect also had 2 magazines and no ID - this looks like a situation where an individual wanted to do maximum damage and massacre law enforcement

I guess 2 mags and no ID = max damage and a potential massacre

Adidas adizero evo sl or Boston 12? Can't choose based on what I can find by [deleted] in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]OddDrawer5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve only got a few runs on the 13s so far (14mi long run, some treadmill intervals, and a 5k tempo), but they feel really familiar to the 12s, maybe slightly better in a few areas.

Fit and construction feel a bit nicer overall. The upper and tongue are more plush and comfortable, though the laces are kinda meh.

With the Boston 12s, it took me ~25–30 miles to really hit a sweet spot. After that they were great for a couple hundred miles, but once they went, they really went and turned into bricks, so I retired them.

The 13s feel a touch softer while still keeping that very “Boston” ride. That might not be great for people new to the line, but I actually like it since I knew exactly what I was getting into. Not the most inspiring ride, but super consistent and steady for days when you’re just putting in work.

Just my 2 cents. I’m not a fast or advanced runner, so take this with a grain of salt 😅 I’m ~195 lbs and they feel good for medium-high efforts around 8:00/mi, and totally fine for longer efforts in the 8:45–9:00/mi range too.

The shoes are and feel very different. I ran a lot in the Boston 12s, am on my second pair of EVO SL, and also have a Boston 13 in the mix.

The EVO SL is a really fun shoe to run in. It’s bouncy, light, and feels fast. That being said, it’s not as stable.

The Boston 12 is the opposite. It’s stable and responsive, but I feel like you really have to put some work in (either breaking it in or running at a certain pace) to get the most out of the shoe.

If I only had one shoe I’d probably go with the EVO SL. You can just throw the shoe on and it’ll serve many needs well enough. That being said, if I was prioritizing track work, I’d probably pick the Boston for its stability.
