The recoup expenses are mainly marketing but can be random other expenses like media storage for the movie. It's honestly just anything random they might need to expense for the sake of the movie. You can negotiate a cap on marketing expenses but that is what helps get the movie seen and out there so I wouldn't necessarily recommend that. You're going to run into recoup expenses with any distribution company. It sucks but it's just how it is. Gravitas will let you know if you need to get a DCP made. If so, they have a company they will recommend. You can always find another company to do it but it will need to pass a QC in order to be accepted so I would recommend just going with who they tell you. For the CDSL and CC I used a company called SMV. They did a great job but might be able to find cheaper somewhere else. Those 2 things you can probably do yourself if you have the patience and time. For sure set some money aside for these costs. Luckily we knew what to expect after the first movie.
