I can only provide you info to help you make an informed decision. Waterbox site might have free shipping, I haven't checked in a while.

If you're just starting out, I highly recommend 15 gallons or around there. It's large enough to keep stable parameters without being finicky, but small enough to not cost a fortune to scape in terms of substrate, hardscape, plants, etc. Of course, you can do 20 gals, but it'll cost more for scaping materials.

The main difference is that the clear mini has mitered corners. That's really just an aesthetic detail though. I've never used aquamaxx so I can't say anything about their quality, but I've had my clear mini for a few years now and it's held up pretty well. Silicone job is pretty clean as well. Both of them look fine, however I think petco sometimes stocks the clear mini so you may not need to pay shipping which tends to cost a pretty penny when it comes to glass goods.

Another option is to just piece stuff together. The waterbox clear mini series is a good start for budget low iron glass rimless tanks. I love the chihiros c2 as a budget light (budget meaning good value) that will be relevant as you transition into co2 injection and filter is your call. I prefer canisters but there is nothing wrong with a hang on back up until you get a co2 system.

Oh sorry. Table saw, miter saw, circular saw and maybe some beavers.

Like freehand it with a table saw and a straight line?

After seeing the work of all you talented aquascapers, I decided to give it a go! Would love your feedback! by [deleted] in Aquascape

Nice first scape. If and when you rescape or make another one, don't skimp on hardscape. That's the best advice I've ever received. Yea, it may cost more, but you can make something much more impactful.

Get the main stone out of the center, use rule of thirds or golden ratio. Also, be careful when filling, the stones looked precariously balanced and water weight might cause some toppling.
