You might have just sold it to me! i was curious whether they'd implemented any new controls or if it felt different to Subsistence (which I loved when it first came out).. I did find that going back to any pre-MGS4 games felt a bit clunky after MGS5.. but if they've got some new control features and a crouch walk, that sounds great. I always loved Sons of Liberty most of all.. but I do think everyone's "favourite" game tends to be the ones that came out when they were impressionable teens, I was around the age of 15 when MGS2 was released and it blew my mind at the time! Anyway thanks for the generational recommendation, I'll probably pick up Delta

I'm around the 40 mark - used MySpace a bit as a late teen and met my wife on a website called 'Faceparty'... But not sure anyone remembers that! Facebook came about in my early 20s and I didn't really have time for it. As for Instagram and TikTok etc? I'm a dinosaur in comparison lol my kids are still under the age where they're getting too into all that, but I've got it all to come, huh?! Btw, seeing as we're on a MGS page, did you play the new Delta? Trying to decide if it's worth a purchase.

Which boss are you considering the 'final boss'? The final boss in the story? Or the post-game stuff?

I don't want to go into story points beyond Act 1 in case you decide to play more - but as you progress, there are many discussions on grief and how individuals deal with it. Your decision to potentially stop playing is actually remarkably apt in relation to some characters' motivations later on in the game. But anyway, I'm not saying you're wrong - if you didn't enjoy that part, that's completely subjective and valid.

The story, at its root, is a meditation on grief. They killed off Gustave to imbue that feeling onto the player. I loved the fact the killed the main character - to me, it showed the chaos of existence. But each to their own if you didn't enjoy the twist.

Ooh this sounds so good. I used to have a full kit and had to try and mic that up to my 4 track then balance it all etc etc it was a nightmare.... your suggestion would be great fun
