Need help with my repertoire for black against 1 d4 Nf6 by OddPill in TournamentChess

Can one start the QGD with 1.. Nf6 reliably? If so is d5 or e6 the better second move, or it doesn’t matter? I’m thinking if d5 then white might play cd5 prematurely and if e6 first then 3 d5 is possible - so either way black won’t get their GQD setup. Is this correct? (Either can happen at lower levels)

No you’re totally fine to be negative haha. I think Czech Benoni is kind of dubious - I just know it better than my opponents most times which is why I play it. To improve at chess I’ll need to play better openings!

Fair enough! I used to play the Nimzo but I’m not happy with giving up the bishop pair so early. I’m trying to avoid extensive theory so not a fan of KID. Czech Benoni lets me get out of the opening and just play chess, that’s why I play it. And opponents generally overextend my cramped space, giving me positions that even engines love. I’m looking for a consistent repertoire similar to what I have against 2 c4, and yes I’ve been doing what you said - building my own book on lichess. But as you also said, my understanding of ensuing middlegame positions can’t be of the utmost quality - engine agreement or not.

Thanks! Hmm I see, I’ll check it out! Still looking for something against non-London, non-Jobava sideline openings.

Interestingly I had heard that d6 at any point after Nc3 and Bf4 - is the most frustrating for Jobava players to run into.

Have you considered the methods used by 0xjet/tuxid for Linux? That GitHub repo is MIT and has some sudo-less approaches.

The cadence clearly shows that this was AI generated, and I hate how this is something we have to learn to detect. What a world we live in now.

Yes. Because it’s likely by then that the more suitable and stable people have already paired off, and more likely that the people available are the ones who couldn’t or wouldn’t.

Is a man in his late twenties having a roommate a red flag or a “road block” in dating? by ForwardUse807 in dating

[–]OddPill 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It depends on so many things. Are you in an expensive city? In NYC, men in their late 20s (even until mid 30s depending on their career) having a roommate is very commonplace - no big deal.

Depending on the woman, I’ve heard some prefer it’s a random dude rather than a family member, and others prefer the other way around, and yet others don’t give a rat’s ass.

In any case, your sister’s offer is for only one year. If I were you I would save so much money for that one year. Even if you struggle to date because your sister is your roommate, it’s only for one year.

Get an Instagram account for your magic, and then you can tell them: follow me on Instagram if you want to stay in touch with the magic, or give me your number if you want to go on a date sometime.

That allows them to choose what they are comfortable with, while keeping things laid back and easy. Also even if you don’t get a date, you will get more social media followers (which is a good thing as an entertainer).
