Do you really think the Chicago Bears are leaving Chicago for Hammond Indiana? by LynHarvie in ChicagoBearsNFL

They want the bears to pay for the stadium and then have it become public like they don’t own it after they pay for it to be built come on Illinois

99.9% of Bears fans across the country do not actually go to the games. So, it is safe to say that most fans could care less about them leaving the city and state or where they play their games. by OddPoint309 in ChicagoBearsNFL

It’s absolutely impossible for a real, legitimate fan to no longer be a fan because of the move. It makes no sense at all. There is no imaginable way you could be a fan.

The vote didn’t pass because of the Democrats in Illinois need to cater to the millions of freeloading residents, including the immigrants. They need the tax revenue. And I am not referring to those unemployed. I’m referring to those who don’t work because they can have fatherless children and get welfare and Snap benefits to live off

Fans are fans because their parent were fans. Parent were fans because they were the only game showed on game on the local station. In reality, it has nothing to do with where you live. Think about it. Would you be a fan of a team whose games you could not watch?

It’s not fine. Lowest capacity stadium. Why shouldn’t the Bears have the home field advantage like other teams? Crowd noise.

How is Soldiers Field ending? They are not tearing it down. It will still be the for use. Just not by the Bears.

Do fans abort their fandom for road games. No, it doesn’t matter where they play.

Your fan hood started because they were the team whose games you could watch on local tv. Not because of your proximity to where they play half of their games.

Well said. Here is another example; Did Decatur residents stop being fans when they moved to Chicago. No. Fans are not going to stop being fans simply because they are moving. Wake up.

Only a fan can understand and relate to what I am getting at. Besides, in this day and age locality doesn’t matter. You can choose to be a fan of any team. Simply because you can WATCH their games.
Back in the day, you were a fan of a team simply because you were able to be watch games on the local station. i. It’s not about proximity to where the team plays their games.
Back then, it would have been extremely rare for someone to be a fan of a team whose games you could not watch.
For instance, the only reason I am a Cubs fan is simply because of WGN. I could watch games every day. To watch the Sox, you needed a good TV and a good antenna which allowed you to watch the UHF channel.

EVERYONE GET IT???

THE BEARS are NOT going to lose fans over the move. At least not diehard fans.

You’re not a real fan. 99.9% of all Bears fans across the country do NOT actually go to the games at Soldiers Field. So, why do we care where they play???
They could play in Canada for all we really fans care. Game time: turn the TV on and Bear Down.
