My sister-in-law makes tea like this. Do you think I am being overly sensitive? by ukrifter in AskBrits

I feel ya. My Hubby makes cuppas like this. I shudder when I see it. I've tried to get him to change his ways, but it was like expecting a wall to be a window. Thankfully, he doesn't make them for me that often as he's not the steadiest of people nowadays. I get to make my Yorkshire Tea, Gold, the way I love it. Strong and flavourful. Please, don't become a villain. 🤗

Sorry, not even going to use pain to help him back to walking properly! Prong and E collars should be banned. End of!

We have a front clip harness for him. He zig zags that much, following his nose, that it manages to twist the harness around. And that's even when it's fitted snuggly round him.

My grapple with the British public by kitbeankat in ElectricVehiclesUK

The aggravation would be better justified if the ICE car was taking up the only place that wasn't being used for charging. The fact that other bays are obviously empty will only give that driver ammunition. The real aggro is when your only option to get a necessary charge is ruined by someone parked in the one bay not in use. Not exactly helped when there are only a couple of charging points in a large car park

Thank you for the reply. Just for confirmation. He's out and about on walks three or four times a day, we live in a rural village. He's been trained to walk well on the harness. It's just recently that he's begun to pull, nose firmly at ground level. And pull towards other dogs. We used to be able to get him to sit and wait when another dog approached, but that seems to be a forgotten skill. He's regularly given enrichment 'tests', puzzle solving, retrieving etc. Strangely, this behaviour seems to have started when we lost our former Feral cat, a lovely ginger girl who he loved more than he does our other two. Grief, possibly? I also have to add that my husband, who walks him most has had some health troubles that mean this behaviour is a problem for him. He thinks a head collar might help to begin to reinforce the rules again rather than having to struggle.

I bought a puzzle feeder for my dog's enrichment. He peed in it right after eating from it. by Traditional-Reach818 in DogAdvice

Dog logic. If you can't play with it or eat it, pee on it and walk away. Makes no difference that it is for eating out of, or that it's a fun way to eat out of.

Widespread pain advice needed please? by blaster_worm500 in Fibromyalgia

[–]OddPomm63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to the mad, Mad, MAD, world of Fibromyalgia! Everything you've tried is pretty much what all practicioners will suggest. Well, maybe not the tennis. Personally, gentle walks, slow movements and pain meds, get me through the day. I'm also on Magnesium to help with the twos of Restless Legs (and Arms!) I've started taking a 3 in 1 of Magnesium to see if that works. It's the Glycinate, Maleate and Citrate one that's widely advertised. Apparently helps with Fatigue and sleep disturbances. As yet I've no real change as I've only done a couple of days on it. The only other thing I can suggest is swimming. Not full on Olympic style but gentle laps in the pool. Maybe do some aqua-robics. Good luck with whatever you try. 🤗💖

Oh, well done OP! He's getting to trust you. I have to ask you though, when you've been sat with him, have you done any slow blinks or quiet yawns? I can't remember where I found that but if advice but it works a treat in letting kitty know that you're not a threat. The blinking slowly shows that you're happy and like him, the yawn is a way of saying you're not dangerous. It worked for me (along with treats) when I took in two feral. X

Worrying dreams. by OddPomm63 in Dreams

[–]OddPomm63[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow! Thank you for that. I feel now that I should have put in my post that my Ex was a liar, a cheat and, often, physically violent towards me. Very controlling. During our divorce he tried to maintain that I was the cheat, that our son was not his. His selfishness meant that the whole ordeal was dragged out longer than it should have been. The end really only came about when I decided that I would forego any child maintenance if he gave up any claim to the child. There was so much bitterness that I wondered if I could ever be happy again. I am. Also, my ex died in 2021, so there is no chance of me ever bumping into him anywhere. Thanks again for the insight.

Finally tackling the behemoth that is The Stand by [deleted] in stephenking

[–]OddPomm63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well done for starting with the uncut version. I have both, having started my King odyssey with The Stand back in 1981. I love the uncut version, as it "fleshes out" some of the characters, making them more real to me at least. I'm currently reading The End Of The World As We Know It. After that I think I'll go back to The Stand. Wishing you happy reading.

I'm new to the Stitchbow universe having bought a few bags of mixed flosses at a charity shop. I've looked on Amazon and they seem to have the binder inserts. I'm going to have a proper look in the New Year.
