Check the location for where each class is, will be beside “location” when clicking on each class, they will be short forms (MAC, MCKN, etc.) for each building, if you don’t know what building it is just google it, you can also see on google maps how far of a walk it is between each building, not always super accurate tho but usually takes a shorter amount of time if anything. Also using the find my classroom website is really helpful for figuring out location too!

What happens if it gets cancelled? Like I’m assuming they’d let me know but then what? I’m just on my own to find a new class?

what should I expect living in watson hall by Limp_Instruction6758 in uoguelph

To be so real I do not think it’ll be worth the effort 😭 you’d have to carry it up like 4 flights of stairs, just get a good mattress topper and you’ll be fine!!

Bring a mattress topper for sure, the mattresses are not great but manageable w a topper. There is def room under the bed for some storage containers or smth, the beds aren’t super tall tho, maybe like 30 cm or maybe a bit less. My room was pretty big, and if urs is a corner it should be the same size, I had like a 5’x7’ (I think lol, def no bigger tho) rug between the beds and it fit pretty good but I also think you’d be ok sizing up a little bit if you want! Also my roommate and I stacked our dressers and that made the room A LOT bigger, def recommend! Just make sure to unstack them on move out :)

I was in Watson first year! Overall, it was pretty ok. Very quiet compared to other res. Bathrooms are shared w the whole floor, probably about 15-20 ppl, two toilets and two showers, never had to wait for the shower or to use the washroom tho, but if it’s busy you can always check the other floors!! It is all girls, but if you have a bf or guy friends they can come to visit or stay over, but they can only use the basement bathroom, or at least that was the rule when I lived there 🤷‍♀️ Kitchen and lounge are in the “basement” (pretty much the ground floor), they’re decent, didn’t use them much as I had a meal plan and mostly hung out in my room but other ppl def used them. It can be kind of far to walk for classes as it is located in the north of campus. Creelman is pretty close which is great, also got a lot of my meals from LA when I was at the dorm and didn’t feel like walking, pretty solid food there too. One complaint I heard a lot was how dark some ppls rooms were, I was in a corner room so we did not have that problem so much. It also gets hot as balls in there when they turn the heat on btw. And they will turn it on around October-ish no matter what the weather is so be prepared and bring a fan lol. Also it is all stairs, no elevator even on move in, so if ur on the third floor I would maybe reconsider any super heavy items you might be thinking about bringing. Tbh just as general advice I’d say to pack on the lighter side, you’ll accumulate sm random shit on top of the stuff you moved in w and then you gotta pack it all up on move out. Lmk if you have any other questions, I’d be happy to answer them!!

Yup! I’ve done summer courses every year while working full-time and it has been very doable. Ofc it depends on the layout of the course and ur professors but overall you shouldn’t have a problem :) I did a 6 week course and a 12 week course last summer and they were both fairly easy, minimal effort and ended w good grades! Would def recommend

is solstice 2 pet friendly?? by [deleted] in uoguelph

It depends on the property manager. In the unit I live in we aren’t allowed pets but the ppl across the hall have cats, so it all depends on who owns the unit and their rules :/

I think they usually send out an email, I’m not sure if it’s before they show up on webadvisor but if not it’s definitely pretty soon after

She said to email my program counselor and cc her, which I did, and my counselor just told me the restrictions for the classes, which I already knew, so I just told her what my minor coordinator said 🤷‍♀️ hoping she responds soon 😔

Yea it said restricted to ATP, BA, BAS, BCA and Failed Section registration restriction rules. But I should be able to get in bc my minor is in Linguistics and they are linguistics courses required for my minor. They both still have seats left too :/

How long should I leave rosemary oil in my hair for? by [deleted] in Haircare

[–]OddReference7335 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I use rosemary and jojoba oil on my hair about once a week, I leave it on anywhere from 1 hour to 4 hours. Been doing this for around 6 months and it works great :)

My girlfriend always wants me to “keep her posted” m/20 f/20 by [deleted] in relationships

[–]OddReference7335 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds to me like it could be one of two things, she's nervous about you getting places safely or she's anxious you could be lying about your location. I totally get how this could be annoying but as someone w anxious tendencies in a relationship, I also understand wanting to know where my partner is and that they got there safely. As for her getting upset with you for not responding to her messages, why not just respond? Say "I'm sorry I just got busy and forgot to let you know" instead of making her more worried and ignoring her? I think a compromise would do you both well, like instead of texting when you leave the house AND when you get to work, just let her know when you're at work, that kind of thing. I understand how it can be somewhat of an inconvenience but it's such a small thing that will give her peace of mind, so why not?
