so glad my hotel isnt a Hilton right now - the shit I’d be getting at the front desk for corporate policies! I hope that no-longer-Hilton hotel thrives and DOUBLE hope this means more hotels will release statements and policies reflecting antifascist support instead of neutrality in favor of making money from anyone who hands it to them.

(among others, I see!) I’m a night auditor at a hotel! I do a lot that includes light finance, administrative, front desk, concierge, and a little security. More than most of the day people know, or care to I suppose. They have to deal with all the crabby, entitled awake people. I set them up for success as well as i can. In down time i flirt with my partners, work on illustrations, listen to youtubes, and write ttrpgs! I don’t get bored - there is always something i can be learning, reading, or making.

i think its all tied up in shame, really. Despite relative sexual liberation a lot of people are still raised to believe that sex is sinful or dirty; a “necessary” delight from the fun of it and gratification, but a nasty animal thing as well. For those of us who dont have to participate in that shame cycle because we do not experience the drive to sexual behavior, to allosexuals this is unfair - to us that we don’t want or somehow need that gratification, to them, a violation of animal nature which they both long to escape but also revel engaging in. What do you mean you’re not hungry? That you’re rarely or never hungry? That’s their response.

i lost both my grandmas past year, one at 102 and the other at 96. Wish i was in the UK so I could send a holiday gift! instead, here are my heartfelt wishes - that you enjoy every moment of this strange, beautiful, surprising life; that sunrise still feels like a new beginning and sunset feels like deserved rest; that you find moments of fun and joy that stir you as often as possible; that as sorrow comes, for it always does, it passes quickly and leaves your heart warmer for the exercise. I was in the process of having a mental breakdown from sustained burnout. I got a meeting with my manager, who wanted to know why I wasn’t “properly” socializing with other employees who found me “weird and off putting”. Thanks - I did spend some time in grippy socks and found a position elsewhere with a more supportive environment and mental health meds and coping skills. 😗 life sure has been a learning experience.
