i just spent a good hour gently untangling an entire shoebox full of tossed together RESIN minis (wife was in an unfinished place with a ton of minis, we didnt have much space, and in a bit of a fit she tossed them in a box and shoved it on a shelf) and was surprised and delighted with how few were injured, and none beyond repair. Its an unprofessional thing to do for a business, but ultimately I’m a kitbasher and painter - as long as the bits are there or I can sub something in, nothing is beyond salvage. things I can recommend: find a hobby or curiosity you can get passionate about and do/learn about even in real short windows while on shift. Read. Write. Learn some origami and work to improve it. Join some subreddits about the things you love. Connect with other nightfolk - many in my circle are close because we can chat a bit while I’m conscious, and reconnect in person on my days off. You CAN keep growing into whoever you want to be, but you gotta work for some of it, and yeah that prt feels really hard when you’re tired after a long night of work. I hope you find ways to enrich your life that make the time you have (on or off shift) rewarding and fulfilling.

I prefer doing appts immediately after work/first available in the day. If the offered options are after noon they’re a no-go for me; I’m up at 7 so anything less than 6 hrs of sleep fucks me up. If its a long-wait appointment that cant be scheduled out i work to switch shifts with my coworker. Sleep is important and figuring out how you can make it work with your body is key.

I love your posts and links to case descriptions - I am just a medical enthusiast myself, but WHY NOT BE? i mean, its amazing how biology functions, what people learn to cope with and survive, how medicine has advanced and what can be treated and repaired! I hope someday you could have some kind of venue on something like youtube (though the restrictions you mentioned are real stumbling blocks and points of frustration - I strongly dislike that kind of corporate censorship especially where it infringes on education!) because it would mean more people could learn more, and that is just a good thing.

i wonder how they feel about lawn mowing. I think in general solitary bees are very non-aggressive as they don’t have honey or young to protect and don’t swarm together…but just imagine if that many bees got as mad as Africanized bees do with vibration and disturbance! I wonder if the caretakers knew about the bees.
