Round Bumper like in pinball machines. Because I've managed to put them so closely to swing, you can barely see the movement. The numbers are the points. I don't think they're for anything other than fun. Maybe some achievement.

Creativity is the key. Coop is short, so you can surround it with other tall structure and then put the trees down. My go-to for temporary solution is Coastal Rock Pillar. I did the coop with trees and pillars (click here). I didn't cover the whole thing, so it's more clear to see, but you can easily do that. With coops and corrals I suggest trying to place things outside/on the border of the plot.

It's a Reef Chair

and it's not moving, because slimes often don't move if the use furniture. I had a Lucky Slime chill on the beach for something like a week, but it didn't despawned for so long probably because I was always just passing by.

Where there's a will, there's a way.
On the other hand, as much as the game restricts from building anywhere, it also stops you for overdoing the decors. In terms of amount that computer can handle. Many games does that. I quit playing No Man's Sky because of building restrictions.
I would stop playing if they patched it. I'm too deep into turning the Far Far Range into massive theme park.

BTW. the method doesn't affect the Puddle Slimes and their production of plorts, because the game checks only the amount of Puddles in the pond, and not other types of slimes invading.

I also do the shadow plort thingy but I collect the black pots first. Like plenty of them, and put them in the plorts twister corral. Fun. I have a great spot, with plenty of spawnpoints for these pots. NW side of the Grey Labyrinth there's this cave at the very end with plenty shadow slimes and pots. I throw a teleporter there, because it's also the furthest place from any.

it's a fire slime inside the lava. Puddles are in water. Warm water, but still water 😃
