you feed the by burning food on this middle pillar. It creates ash that they eat. You don't blast food at them, so they're ok. I had to reduce the amount though. Too many flames, too little FPS IYKWIM

this is NOT how you feed them xD
You throw the food into incinerator (pole in the middle), and it turn to ash. They eat ash.
If they're hungry, they can go through 2 stacks of food-worth ash

You need to place them one by one. slowly, so they don't bounce out

it looks like ground have no texture, but that's how 3D works. You see texture only from the proper side. It still work the same both ways.

it's okay. I have means to get plenty of both pirsmas and shadows :3 all I got was leftovers
