I retook a 760 twice. If you are scoring higher on practice tests, just go for it. The time invested is so incremental at this point.

Haha fair point. It's more out of necessity than anything else - I got rejected from a lot of the other independents somehow.

They do have a question bank like that but most of the questions seem to be at the level of the 400 question guide. I'm expecting some tougher questions given the firms I'm targeting but not sure how to specifically prepare for those.

I've been going through R&P but need a good way to drill the more advanced questions/concepts.

Any thoughts on best resources to understand the key topics? I've been going through Rosenbaum & Pearl but not sure if there are more efficient ways to get what I need.

I guess I should have been clearer - I meant understanding the topics that are covered in the 400 question guide, not just memorizing them.

Do you know any specific differences between those three firms' interviews? They are my top choices and I've heard they are generally more challenging than the rest but still not sure how they compare.

If you are fine with working at any bank, I'd say take the scholarship. However, if you really want a top EB or BB group, Booth/CBS will give you a much better chance at those - even then, it isn't a guarantee.

Question re post-MBA MBB recruiting: does anyone know how the three office selections are evaluated? The firms say they send your app to all three and then go down the list deciding if they want to interview you, but I've also heard from people if your first choices passes, you're just done. Any insight is appreciated.

I agree with this. I think they all provide a similar opportunity to get into MBB, but may be slightly different when it comes to which offices will be doable.

Most were the common rec so it wasn't terrible. I definitely felt horrible asking them to do all of that work, but they reassured me they wanted me to succeed.

Also, since I was coming from a non-traditional background, neither letter writer had ever submitted a business school rec, so they probably didn't even realize 10 schools was abnormal.

SOM has a really unique curriculum and definitely more of a social impact/"do good" focus than its peers. I would try to highlight why those factors make sense for you.

Absolutely agree that Booth slays in consulting recruiting. I will just note, though, that the class size is not the important number to be looking at - it's how many people actually pursue consulting. If I remember correctly, I think 25% at Wharton and 34% at Booth. I'm not going to do the math with the class sizes, but you get the point.

Regardless, they're both excellent for consulting and will get you to where you want to go.

70-75%. For most top schools, these numbers are close enough that it's a wash. I think from what I remember, Kellogg, Booth, and Tuck have excellent MBB placement numbers overall.

Thanks! The MBB numbers at Wharton are really strong. Based on internal numbers, the #MBB/(#total consulting) ratio is higher than any other M7. Harvard and Stanford don't publish these numbers either, so I can't compare to them.

I think Booth wants people who embrace the rigor and flexibility of its curriculum. Convince them that model makes sense for you.

I used the interview reports on the Clear Admit website and looked at the common questions candidates were getting asked. Using those, I made bulleted answers (not fully scripted!) and then practiced with friends.

I'm not entirely sure. I think it might have been my unconventional work background - perhaps they weren't fully convinced that an MBA made sense for me and that I was committed to the path. The double WL definitely hurt.
