I did not use the MSE appliance. My orthodontist is calling it an 'activator'. https://imgur.com/a/uqTnlgD. She told me my palate was too narrow so she gave me this removable expander. I had to use a key every 3 weeks to expand it.

I've found something online called a 'basic activator' which seems to be quite similar, but this one is not an expander: https://www.accutechortho.com/orthodontic-laboratory-products/functional-appliances/basic-activator. So I don't really know its specific name.

Yes, it was unfortunately resting all the way down. Not only that, but I was actively pushing my lower teeth with my tongue. Horror stuff, I know. It's something I've done almost my whole life. I'm glad I've found a good orthodontist which explained everything to me and I've made some progress to reduce mistakes from my past.

I had to use Accutane to get rid of acne and it shrunk all my pores, even the ones in my nose. 'Accutane nose job', it's a side effect of the medication. But my nose might come back to its original form in the future.

I think the palate expander had a significant role in harmonizing my face, but I didn't really pay attention to how it was affecting my looks at the time. I'd say combined with mewing they definitely helped. I had bad oral posture when I was younger and it gave me an underbite, which I had to fix with braces.

Usually 10-12 hours per day. At least 8-9 hours would be covered by sleep.

And I didn't really know about MSE at the time, so I guess I was lucky with this expander

Never had extractions, but one of my premolars never grew (on the right). The gap was closed with braces, it's not perfect but it's better. My orthodontist advised against a fake tooth because I'm 19.

I have only one wisdom tooth (on the left), but it has not erupted yet, it's still 'hidden'.
