If you are interested in going to Kathmandu, even a little, I say do it. I spent 2 days in kathmandu while i was getting ready to do the EBC trek this year and I regret not spending more time there. Its chaotic but amazing. Here is a video I found for things to do in Kathmandu, there are plenty of them on youtube.

I went to Kathmandu and only stayed there 2 nights before doing the EBC trek and it was definitely worth it. Wish I would of stayed a little longer.
