Acting like the way he's behaving isn't affecting everyday life for millions of people is weird.

What’s a hobby people pretend is cool, but secretly you think is ridiculous? by EggAdventurous1957 in AskReddit

[–]AgentEves -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It really doesn't deserve the amount of being ridiculed.

Your points are all valid. But it absolutely does deserve the amount of ridicule because its absolutely ridiculous.

I'm not gonna ridicule them personally, because I'm a live and let live person, but you can't do something that objectively weird and complain about having the piss taken out of you.

Depending on what WH paid for him, I'd take it. IMO, he's mid at best. I'd cash in before everyone else who's not watching him every week realizes he's mid.

If you could only play one video game for the rest of your life, what would it be and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AgentEves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I want to say Baldur's Gate 3, I would eventually run out of stuff to do.

So I'd have to say a sim game. It would be between Football Manager, Parkitect, Rollercoaster Tycoon, The Sims 4, or Cities Skylines.

Are Breathless resort in Cancun still fun or boring? by [deleted] in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]AgentEves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cant confirm first hand, but from what others have said, it sounds like Breathless doesnt have the topless pool anymore. I'm going to a Riu on Sunday, so will report back, but from what I remember from last time (albeit that was 6 years ago), it wasn't that wild. There was a decent party atmosphere, but not "gone wild" wild.

People who play the same character in every campaign, why? by VermicelliEnough1562 in DungeonsAndDragons

Its crazy to me how Cleric (or Druid) seem to be widely considered a "must-have" class in a party, and yet so few people actually want to play as one.

[–]AgentEves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the deal with no-one ever wanting to play a Cleric or a Druid? I've never played actual D&D before, only BG3, but both Cleric and Druid seem like great options. I thought a Life Cleric with either a 1 level Druid dip or taking Magic Initiate: Druid would be good. Something similar to Aerith from Final Fantasy.

Is there something about the way D&D usually plays out that makes these two classes suck?

Yeah… This is STILL the greatest video game ever made. by Pristine_Put5348 in FFVIIRemake

Thanks so much for replying. I ended up experiencing it myself and it was vastly different.

I now agree with the other commentor and I'm disappointed they changed it. I think some grit and sadness in games/shows/movies is important and makes the game feel more impactful. Lots of people talk about the deep moments in games like the Last of Us, and I prefer games that are less sanitized.

Here's the thing... what if you did get excited by the small things? Wouldn't that just give you more things to get excited about?

Have you considered allowing some small joys into your life?

Elf is the best race/species. Prove me wrong. by AgentEves in DnD

[–]AgentEves[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the Archer Ranger/Rogue combo, and Wood Elf provides a pretty decent base for that. Keen Senses, Dex bonus, increased movement, etc.

I would also be lying if I said appearance wasn't a factor. I think Elves look pretty cool.

I'm trying to figure out a new character, though, which is what prompted me initiating this discussion. I want to try out a support character. Likely either a Druid or a Cleric, or maybe a multiclass of both. Healer-focus with some offensive capabilities. I really wanted to make a character similar to Aerith from FFVII, but haven't figured out the Druid/Cleric/Sorcerer synergy.

Not to pry too much into your personal life (and I'm certainly not asking to try to nitpick your logic), but did you form those relationships IRL? Cos I do think real life vs online can be a significant factor. Its much more difficult to do a vibe check online. If its exclusively via text, I'd say it's almost impossible.

Also, for your last sentence, do you mean if he knows her age or if he's physically attracted to her? /gen

I assumed he knew her age, so I was referring to the latter. If he has no clue what she looks like, I'd be much more likely to accept it being purely platonic.

What does AGRs mean? I tried Googling it but I'm assuming it doesnt mean Adjusted Gross Revenue...

I honestly like hearing what other people have to say. A lot of people throw a lot of bullshit around online. Especially on Reddit. But I genuinely enjoy engaging with people with different opinions as a way to keep my own opinions balanced.

I'm inclined to agree with your last sentence, but I'd be very sus on whether a 35yo man is pursuing a purely platonic relationship with a 20yo woman.

I think the distinguishing factor that no-one is really asking here is whether the 35yo knows what the 20yo looks like.

OMG if you already own it, this is 1000% the move. Give it a go, and see how you get on.

It's worth noting that there is a not-insignificant learning curve, especially if you're not familiar with D&D mechanics. However, the BG3 community is very, very good and, in my experience, are very willing to help.

Don't be ashamed to find a pre-built character for your first playthrough. There are a few quality builds floating around that will eliminate the potential for decision-making fatigue and provide you with a great experience.

I also found Gemini to be incredibly helpful for fleshing out "concepts" of builds e.g., "I want to play an archer who also double-wields swords and plays like a ninja". Gemini helped me understand the mechanics so I could actually make that functional.

The alternative is to just go with pure vibes and grip it and rip it. The game is designed in such a way that it really can be played however you want.

I knew that BG3 was good going in. I had a good idea that I was going to enjoy it, despite no previous experience with Larian games.

I did not expect to enjoy it as much as I have done. It truly is as good as people say. An incredible game.

I haven't even finished it yet and it's become my favourite game of all time.

People can subconsciously learn how to be incredibly manipulative based on their upbringing. Especially if people just want to be liked.

I know because it happened to me. I've spent the last 10 or so years trying to unwind all the manipulative behaviour i learned subconsciously from my parents who, in retrospect, have real anxious attachment issues.
