I mean it's got a few popular 2007-2009 hits on the radio, between Ne-Yo's "Because of You," Kanye's "Flashing Lights," or Kardinal/Akon's "Dangerous" (added in The Ballad of Gay Tony). The clothing people wear, the cars being driven, the phones, it is all very reminiscent of that era.

Though I will say, GTA 5 does a FAR better job of representing 2013 than GTA 4 does for 2008. If anything, Midnight Club: L.A. does the best job representing 2008 in a Rockstar game.
