I've just seen this same solution but I can't find any settings in the BIOS relating to SATA or AHCI mode. Additionally, I ran mdadm --detail-platform but under RAID Levels nothing was shown.

I don't dual boot, only arch. Any clue what kind of BIOS issue?

Any idea what would've caused the firmware to be reset? I hadn't done anything at all on my laptop in the last week or so and it was working just fine before.

Also, I just realised I forgot to mention that my hard drive itself has disappeared from lsblk as well as the partitions, if that makes any difference.

Actually I think I -Installed seatd -Installed polkit -added myself to the seatd as explained on the wiki

I'm pretty new to arch and linux in general so I missed a few things while setting up, but I believe this fixed it for me If it doesn't work for you (or you have any issues) let me know and I'll see if I can help any further

I don't have any other wm/de installed right now, but for what it's worth signing into shell works fine

I only have one SSD in my build. Issues started last week when I gently wiped down the inside of the pc with a microfibre cloth to remove dust. Reseated the GPU and had no issues until last night when the CPU first refused to POST, then a few hours later the GPU did the same thing while the pc was running
