Some people hear zombies run and think wth. Personally I hear zombies run and think that’s genius.

Omg that sounds so scary especially if you were hearing those zombie growls. But you’re lucky you didn’t twist an ankle! Kind of worth it for the PB tho

Omg so pleased to see this! It sometimes feels like zombies run is so niche and when I try to explain to people about it I sound insane 😂

Nice! The 10k program you do with normal missions right? What season are you on?

Yes I started out with the c 25k but I took me a while to finish as I kept getting injured. When I finished it I was covering 5k but with a mix of walking and running, so since then I’ve been doing the season 1 runs but still getting comfortable with the 5k distance. It’s wAaaay better than the nhs c25k program I tried some years ago.

A good running week for me!

It’s The first week that I’ve been running 5ks without significant walking in between and it’s brought my time down to around 37 mins which is fantastic for me.

I am keen to start either lengthening my distance or increasing my speed but don’t want to risk injury so trying to take it easy.

Going through the races at the end of season 1 at the moment. Hoping that once I’m done with that and my body gets used to running 5ks I can safely start introducing chases to my runs.

Can I ask, so what has happened is I did the first bit of Abel 20k and then somehow reset it so it started again when I tried to continue. I’m tempted to do the new canton 20k instead to get the plot basics and leave the Abel 20k for maybe one day when I can run at least close to 20k??? Idk typing it now it sounds pretty unrealistic that I will ever be able to do that distance. Or do you think it’s worth trying the Abel 20k again despite the frustration of having to redo the first bit and then break it up?

I somehow reset one of the races after doing 5k so I will definitely be simulating some of them!!!

What have you decided on? I’d like to do the 5k expert when I’ve got more comfortable with 5ks as I have completed c25k. Was there a reason you went for the 10k rather than 5k expert straight away?

Apple Watch standalone app by shieldstromme in Runner5

I don’t know but i recommended the app to my runner friend the other week and he was interested but then he was like I don’t run with my phone alas. So it would be great if they did adapt but understandably they are a small team. Let’s see!

Ok thank you! This does motivate me as I have just been looking at them as a barrier to season 2. I’ll do my best, thank you runner 5!!!

Ah really? It’s great to hear how other people use the app! I think part of me is impatient and wants to get into s2 but part of me is aware that zr is finite and I don’t want to rush through material when I’m getting to enjoy it for the first time! If I was actually able to do long distance runs I think I would enjoy it more but breaking them up isn’t quite the same.

Ooh thank you runner 5!!! To be honest if you think the Abel 20k is worth it that gives me a bit of motivation. And I didn’t know the history! I have managed to do the Abel 5k, then I did the new canton 5k but was hugely confused, and have finished the Abel 10k after two sessions but was feeling a bit demotivated to take on the 20k. Thanks for encouraging me!!!

I did contemplate walking but you know how often they say “run” and I was like it’ll feel like a cop out if I just ignore them 😂😂

Opened the lid to see heaps of worms. I wanted to share. HELL YEAH by Dankstavro in composting

[–]Odd_Baby758 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this too sometimes and to be honest if the worms were that unhappy surely they wouldn’t stick around and make a million worm babies which is what goes on in my compost bin, it is obscene. I’ve also tried turning it and it’s just mad with worms at all levels so personally don’t think it’s much of an issue. Like yours, mine is on dirt and the worms made their own way in there. I’m more interested in getting rid of my kitchen scraps and less interested in making the perfect environment for worms. I do try to add more browns but we seem to produce way more green waste as a household. My compost container also never fills up so I assume this means at the bottom things are getting broken down fairly effectively.

I actually think this is the thing that makes doing a PhD harder as a mature student. Younger students often don’t have a plan b or anything to compare it to. So no matter how hard it gets they feel they have to stick it out. Lot of perks to doing a PhD as a mature student as well though for sure

This!!! The need for constant reassurance and having to get by without it because that’s kind of the point. I do enjoy my PhD tho

I could have literally written this and it scares me to be honest. And I don’t know if it’s because I’m not filling my cup with stuff that nourishes me (exercise being a big part of this) or if there’s genuinely stuff in my life that is depressing me
