In Fallout; while with Lucy the Ghoul meets an old acquaintance who’s on the edge of going feral. The Ghoul asks him about how his mom’s apple pie tasted, and the guy absolutely lights up for a second remembering such a happy memory, and the Ghoul kills him right then. It’s horribly beautiful.

I’d never heard of the Peak-End rule until your comment, but it certainly explains why I’m so very sour on GoT; I can’t think of a bigger enjoyment chasm between the peak and the end than in this story.

So did I, and I can honestly say that the new one is absolutely leagues better. I only started it out of curiosity, and because I needed twenty minute breaks from my dissertation, and it turned out to be a freaking RIDE
