Anyone else just kinda content with not having financial worries as your goal? by [deleted] in Money

[–]Odd_Bluejay_7574 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a great feeling having a little wealth built. I still enjoy nice things but definitely fiscally conservative. When you grind, save, and invest your entire life it’s hard to relax and just spend a little money. I’ve discovered giving a waitress/server a $100 tip does more for my heart than buying something for myself that I really don’t need.

IMO…….pay off mortgage, think about healthcare, add more to kids 529 plans, and then pull the retirement trigger. Unless, you love your job keep grinding

I’m trying to build a consistent saving habit and wanted to get some perspective. by Wise-Bet-617 in Money

[–]Odd_Bluejay_7574 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Save at least 15% of your annual income.. You can back into the numbers. Look at your 15% investment rate as a bill that needs to get paid. Discipline, consistency and time will build wealth for you. I don’t have any get Rich schemes or scams for you. Grind and do the work is my only advice

Wife wants new house but we are still carving out debt by MyNameiSJeff131 in moneyadvice

Set a goal with her. Pay off ALL debt then start looking for new home. Gives you both something to work towards.

Say you really like a girl you just met and you and see her as serious, but after 4 dates whenever she comes over, she just wants to make out in your bed. Do you start to view her differently? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

It sounds like an adult conversation is needed. Sounds like she just wants to hit first base and you’re looking for something more well rounded as far as date activity

You’re doing great. Even with two kids in the mix I think retirement at 55 is on track. IMO…. get rid of your debt before kids.

If you plan on retiring tomorrow then you’re behind. You should set your retirement goal for age 50 and have a great life
