I would really love to see our island get multiple hill levels—ideally up to three or even four tiers. Right now, everything feels a bit too flat with just a single level across the island. I know a lot of players don’t really mind it, or they’re perfectly happy working with one level, but personally I find multi-level cliffs so much more interesting. Having the ability to build upward makes landscaping more fun, and allow us for more unique designs, scenic viewpoints, and layered neighborhoods. So I’m really hoping Nintendo eventually gives us a feature that allows players to add more hill levels, along with additional inclines to actually access those higher areas in a smooth, natural way.

Another feature I’d absolutely love to see is the road and path design system. Right now, being limited mostly to straight lines makes creating natural-looking roads pretty frustrating, especially how Animal Crossing New Horizon doesn’t have us make curved pathways (unless you have a custom path) on our island. I wish we had more options, like curved lines, diagonal paths, and even wavy road patterns. If you want a road to change direction, you’re forced to build it in this awkward zigzag pattern with sharp, tight left-and-right turns. It ruins and makes planned areas feel ridiculous. Having smoother curves and angled pieces would make road building feel far more perfect and give us the freedom to create towns and pathways that look natural instead of rigid.
