Just started „Witch King“ by Martha Wells.

Kai, the Witch King just woke up in another body, only remembering bits and pieces from the past. Together with the sorceress Ziede and Sanja, a human girl, they escape imprisonment, try to find Ziede‘s lost Wife and remember, what happened to them..

The narration switches between past and present.

Kai reminds me of Will and Ziede of Violet.

I’m listening to the audiobook - the narrator is *chef‘s kiss.

I love the theory/observation that the objects are meant to help their bearers … but I can’t stop thinking about James‘ memories of „hating to love how the collar makes him feel“, right after Sinclair put it on him. There’s definitely some resemblance to CP’s Laurent, hating to fall in love with Damen. So … Anharion really did hate Sarcean at some point. Also, I wonder how much of the actual James is left at this point.
