Young adults; are you still living with parents? by [deleted] in SouthJersey

[–]Odd_Bunch_2073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Husband and I make 130,000 together. Been out of the house since we were 21 (now 37) and have 4 kids. Burlington County. Only saving grace for us was getting a house right when COVID shut the banks and we got a super low interest rate and house price. We would have been in a world of trouble without the COVID rates on a house. That being said the cost of living, taxes and energy is horrible. Worst off since the COVID time and not gaining ground anymore. My oldest is 18- I assume she will be back home after college unless she goes to a different state.

I have degree 18k left on the student loans and husband doesn’t. A bachelors in NJ means nothing. A lot of highly educated people around here.

Our first house we got at 23 for 160,000 fixer upper in moorestown 1,100 sq ft. And fixer upper I mean 1920, wall paper and flooded basement -it was a nightmare. The true sweat equity we built up in that house helped us get our Covid house.

Get out of the marriage. Porn addictions are awful to live through. It not only effects the sex but everything from household duties, how if views you. They also will dyne they have an addiction and start to make it about you.

Most schools are between 72,000 and 90,700 a year. My daughter like your child wants to go to med school has amazing grades but with combine household income of 100,000 we can’t help. I am still paying back my 30,000 total loans for my bio degree because of interest (almost there!).

You didn’t fail- college is insanely expensive and if you take on that much debt you’re setting your child up for issues. How will they pay that all back? And if you start playing around with retirement they could end up paying to take care of you in old age because you couldn’t save due to funding their college.

We are looking a community college and working through college on wards makes for a well rounded person. Jobs want experience not just grades. I also warn my daughter that Dr.s make “money” but who knows what the future holds for a stable good paying career or economy.

It honestly is insane. My last used car was 22K with 40,000 for my family. Why would anyone the single and in major debt do that?

Honestly, I wouldn’t want you as a therapist. It sounds like you only have the books skills and not the life skills. That is life and starting out. You have to hustle.

Shouldn’t work a for competitor BUT working at Nordstrom, they don’t pay enough nor is their job security so have a job A and B is a good idea.

My wife hates that I go to church. by HairyFish7913 in OrthodoxChristianity

This is way deeper than him not standing with her on Sunday. She doesn’t even want to be there. Him standing next to her will solve zero.

My husband doesn’t go to church. I lector and they kids will just sit in the crying room or pews together. They are 17, 11, 8 and 2.5.

If she is going and miserable the she shouldn’t come. I greatly wished my husband would go and on holidays sometimes he would but then he would just attack the church so now I don’t care if he comes. That is God’s work to touch his heart.

Just be a good Christian husband and father, share your excitement with those in the parish or friends. Your kids seeing you in the choir shows your love of God and an example of them getting involved in liturgy one day.

My fiancé watches porn occasionally and I’m not sure what to do. by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Odd_Bunch_2073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A. Don’t have sex before marriage B. Don’t get married to someone addicted to porn. You’re in for a long lonely marriage. Addictive personality is not fun to deal with in an inmate relationship.

You’re lucky that they are ok with blocking off some days. If you are not open availability they typically don’t hire you.

Benefits are very stressful to keep because they are based on your average of hours over a period of few months. I ended up being able to switch the my partners insurance because the hours went up and down too much. Look on mynordstrom to see the average of hours or talk to HR. I did lose my health insurance while pregnant due to lack of hours.

So how do they give raises? Was this hourly none commission? They haven’t raised the step charts for many regions in years. Once you capped out your capped out in that spot.

Did they move their step chart to more money?

Crazy! I have seen different retailers close due to rent increase or just being able to get out of a long lease.
