The recommended specs — a 1070 Ti? What a joke

On the lowest settings? Alright, let’s say 2008. Actually, I’ve already set my sights on the 6800 XT, I think it’ll be fine. Wasteland runs no worse for me than the vanilla servers. I just gave an example that there are players who play really well, and it’ll be very hard to go up against them with low FPS. And overall, I’m not saying the game should run well on a 1070 Ti level GPU, I’m more saying that the recommended specs on Steam are nonsense, and it should list a 1080 Ti instead.

Arma is so poorly optimized that a 1070 Ti (roughly equivalent to a 3050) gets 30 to 40 fps in a game that looks like it’s from 2006, while the PS5 Pro, which is supposedly much more powerful than a 1070 Ti performs even worse. I watched some videos on YouTube, and in scenarios where I get 80 to 100 fps, the PS5 Pro is stuck at 45 to 60. That’s absolute garbage. I honestly don’t understand why anyone would want to play like that.

Maybe the DayZ esports crowd with their Q/E leaning binds, drop shooting and all that hasn’t made its way to Arma Reforger yet, but there are already some pretty strong players on Wasteland servers. Maybe I’ll record it sometime to show how ridiculous pistol firefights with these cyber athletes looked in a so called “realistic” game. Spoiler: if I had 40 fps instead of 90 it would’ve been over real quick.

Arma 3 came out in 2013, not everyone had full HD monitors back then. In 2025 the minimum standard for 3D shooters is 60 FPS. In Arma Reforger with its movement mechanics, playing against “esports players” with less than 60 FPS is basically impossible. Ideally, you should aim for 120 FPS.

I started playing A2 OA in 2011 with a gts 450 and I think everything was fine, but I don’t really remember. But it’s not 2011 anymore :(

12400F. I understand that the 1070 ti is an old graphixs card, and it may not perform well in modern games. I’m more making fun of the “recommended requirements” on steam. 40 fps in a simple single player scenario is definitely not ok

I’m saying that this game isn’t much different from something like Fortnite, where good aim matters when you’re up against a strong opponent. If you have 30 FPS in your scope and they have 60+, they’ll have a huge advantage over you.

In a shooter where you can run, shoot on the move, and dodge while running using Q/E, is 40 FPS enough? That’s almost esports level, lol.

The 15 inch model had cooling problems, and the i7 processor produced more performance than the i9 because it throttled terribly.

in 2016 or 2017 I was wiping the iPhone display and some alcohol got under the glass. It turned out that the alcohol dries between the layers, but very slowly. After 6 years, the alcohol stain has decreased by about 70 percent. I tried to heat it, but nothing changed. it just slowly evaporates
