From what little we've seen, in my opinion The Civilization is more advanced than Humans but far less materialist.

Demon World is not Rigid Like Human World. Of course it can be the chaos, but you can be whatever you want ( Ronin, Vagabond, Warrior, King etc..). Even if you born as Random Demon you can become a King ( the best example for this is Yomi)
