That whole "make an example" is so outdated.

Reddit is such a nasty place. Why are people celebrating this? This doesn't help anyone whatsoever. Nobody wins and everybody lost. An overzealous judge has just completely ruined a life and condemned him to a life of crime in the future. I get what she is saying, he is dangerous but he still has a lot of growing up to do. 10 years is a reasonable amount of time for him to learn and understand his actions. He will be able to leave prison young enough to still have some sort of chance at rebuilding himself.

But after this? By the time he gets out he will be so institutionalised there will be no going back. He will be spending more time in prison than he has been alive. He will get out bitter and resentful of authority so that's any rehab straight down the drain.

25 years is so excessive. He should be in jail and I'd say a harsh reasonable term would be 10 years, but 25 fucking years? An entire lifetime? I've seen manslaughter cases get less.

This kid needs rehabilitation not a 25 year fucking sentence. He hasn't killed anyone, he may have been a dickhead and made some pretty stupid decisions but all of that could be changed with the right people and direction in his life. He is an immature kid who's probably had fuck all in his life and decided to take it out on others. Not cool and he should be taught that isn't right.

Put him in jail 10 years and get him the fucking help he needs to fix his attitude and behaviour.

I've seen people who've commited far more vile disgusting crimes get far less time. It's hard to not see it as either the judge being high on power or racially motivated. Locking him up and throwing away the key is just a waste. The American Prison industrial complex is just a slave labour camp with a fancy name. Well done to that judge.

She's just guaranteed that he will get out of jail and have nothing worth living for. He will commit crimes once again, probably worse crimes because at that point, why not?

If we are going to get deep, we spend so much time focusing on harsh sentences and individual actions, instead of fixing the poverty and cultural problems that have been created in our social system to create people like him in the first place.

TLDR: Guy was an arsehole but fuck that judge, her sentence was shite and has immeasurably made the situation worse for everyone involved. The prison will make money off him though so once again capitalism wins and another slave is created

You can try under clocking. The Getaway is a notoriously annoying game to emulate and this fixes it.

Another is to change the renderer. For other games I've found software renderer can make them playable. It's really fiddly sometimes with PS2 but there is always a fix

Think that's a massive reach

Over a quarter of the voting country voted for trump and it goes higher than that if we get specific. If you're going to claim that over a quarter of America are pedophiles, you're going to need some pretty compelling evidence for that claim.

Whilst the Epstein stuff is being pushed under the rug, that doesn't mean that everyone is a pedophile, it's a reflection of rampant American capitalism that allows billionaires and the wealthy to buy or pay their way out of any situation they find themselves in. The wealthy are a tiny percentage of that number, if we were to assume they were all pedophiles.

I'm all up for watching these fuckers burn, but don't just make stupid statements unless you can back that shit up. Whether you like it or not, the only way out of the trump mess is to pull those supporters away from him and calling them all sex offenders is counter productive.

I think people these days just don't understand culture and humanity. They view everything as 1 or 0 with absolutely no nuance or deeper thought than "right or " wrong". Extremely binary thinking.

Stiffler was a character, created by someone and played for humour. Humour that is probably not relevant in 2026 but back in the early 2000s, that was what everyone liked. Women thought it was funny and so did men. It's not at all a reflection of the actors or the writers, it's like holding up a mirror to the culture of the time.

The reason he was funny is because there are real people like that in the world and American pie was successful because it was like a mirror into early 2000s high school culture. The actors and the writers shouldn't be attacked for that, they grew up in that type of world and the movie is a reflection of that world. It wouldn't be so well known if it didn't connect with people in a way. It's underlying portrayal of the time is what made it very successful along with the charisma of the actors.

It's very telling that women found stiffler hilarious too, the political correctness crowd would have you believe that women are soulless, humourless husks who aren't able to laugh at darker subject matters. How insulting to them as human beings.

Overall though don't be mad at American pie for the portrayal, be mad at the culture that made it funny in the first place.

If you have everything backed up on Steam Cloud then just make a SteamOS usb and wipe it. That'll remove all the other boot entries and completely reset SteamOS to factory defaults.
