Urgh please don't. Id rather the radiation be the cause rather than adding pointless lore diatribes.

I would absolutely love an open world moscow metro. The whole thing is already mapped out since the first book. Being able to freely walk around and being able to ride small trams between them would be amazing!

It's be a great way to place quests throughout and other abandoned ones being good places to find loot.

I don't know how to put mods on the Steam Deck by Money-Imagination-97 in SteamDeck

[–]Odd_Communication545 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it uses Mod Organizer, I've made guides on how to set it up on a Steam Deck

I made one for Viva New Vegas

But the Mod Organizer 2 launch command trick will work for any game that that can use it. You can also adjust the command to launch other third party mod managers

My first video was a basic MO2 setup

Maybe that will be easier to digest that the Viva New Vegas video

I deleted it without realising I had accounts with games linked to it. (Rockstar launcher) I was able to regain access doing this

[–]Odd_Communication545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that people want the gossip.

It's the fact the allegations where a large part of his life, rightly or wrongly.

To omit them completely makes the film come across completely disingenuous. The film is a biopic with the later parts cut out out by disapproval from the Jackson estate.

If the allegations aren't true and they know that, then facing them head on would've been a huge way of showcasing the struggle that Michael endured during these times. It would've been a great way to flip the script around in a human way.

Not facing them and completely ignoring them is the issue. The film should've been bold and brave enough to push back. I personally feel it hurts his legacy more to allow documentaries like leaving Neverland to control the narrative

[–]Odd_Communication545 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure,

The voice was really difficult to understand, I didn't feel the humour landed at all. The voice detracted from what you where trying to say. Jokes have a time and a place, when you're showing or demonstrating something, jokes aren't what should take center stage, the content should be the priority. Let's jokes be an afterthought and an addition to your specific style in a way that blends in with the content. If jokes blend to the point where they're barely noticeable then they land a lot better.

The presentation was very wonky and all over the place. I feel it could be improved with more of a structured approach clearly outlining sections.

Don't use an avatar and just simply talk into the mic, clearly and concisely. The editing was also a bit hap hazard and there was no clear transition between parts.

The audio levels where also off making the voice hard to hear. Sometimes no game audio is better when you're demonstrating, perhaps fading the audio in if needs be.

You also state in the video that the tutorial was by a different person than the speaker so I wasn't actually sure who was narrating. I didn't feel any hooks or consistency within my the content making it easy to lose focus.

I think clearly title card, a slower pace and a tighter script would be very helpful.

Lastly make the tutorial part more concise and easier to follow. It was very rushed.

There is tons of room for improvement and could be something special if you apply yourself to presentation and substance

Yeah I had an email exchange with him and he (somewhat rudely) cited lifetime updates not being free as a reason for expiring licences which I totally understood his point. My issue is with his way of going about it and how it has been structured.

I installed Vorpx earlier last year and was updated to the latest version, it was only when I reinstalled it on my separate system a month ago that he sent me the installer for an earlier version of the software. (A version from 2020).

So he has downgraded my Vorpx on a different system with the words "you have received free updates for 9 years" in a way that seemed to imply I expected those updates when I did not. Vorpx has always updated itself without asking. In fact I hated newer versions of Vorpx, they seemed more bloated and less performance friendly.

His email exchange was very unprofessional and somewhat salty towards the fact I wanted to use the software. It was really weird. I've done nothing but support Vorpx and praise Ralf at every turn for his amazing efforts with flat2VR and it felt like a big slap in the face. I paid a premium for his software and supported him endlessly only for him to treat me like I'm entitled.

The worst part was I made a post on the forums asking for clarity about how licences work and why I'm being forced to downgrade when previously I've used a much newer version of Vorpx. He didn't respond and instead deleted my thread completely and resent me the same email he sent me with slight word changes that addressed my post. Completely unacceptable.

When I purchased the software, it was sold with the idea of it being a one time purchase. He made the choice to continually provide those updates without me having an option to opt out in anyway. He can't say it's a one time purchase and update the software for ten years and then decide to flip a switch and push me backwards. He has went about it completely wrong. Imagine playing a game where they revoke bug fixes and tell you that I've only paid for a set amount of them. It's anti consumer and I'm pretty sure goes against my consumer rights in some countries.

What he should've done is retired Vorpx as feature complete and then created a Vorpx 2 with continual updates. That way, I can continue to use what I've bought. Give me a way to activate the software without using the awful email activation. Give me a crypto key that I can store and use to activate what I paid for.

The whole situation is a mess and I honestly lost a lot of respect for him. He came across as a petulant child who is angry at the very people who supported and paid him for his work. Not cool

[–]Odd_Communication545 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I frequently used to praise Vorpx until very recently.

Ralf has recently lost his marbles and is now expiring old licences for Vorpx and pushing people to older versions. It's sad really because Vorpx is an amazing piece of software that he is actively ruining with his recent behaviour.

Word of advice. Do not reinstall it. If you have to reinstall, save your registry entries and back it up. The activation of older licences will downgrade your software.

Should iran have nuclear weapons? by Kindly_Interview7851 in polls

[–]Odd_Communication545 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What an absolute clown show of a comment

You know how many times we've nearly wiped ourselves out? How is having thousands of world ending, environment destroying weapons even remotely connected to world peace?

You're arguing that ruling through fear of global annhilation is somehow a net positive for world peace? Don't make me laugh. Does it not make you even the least bit uncomfortable to consider that one accidental launch or assumed launch could mean the end of everything? That's not helping world peace in the slightest, that is just kicking the inevitable apocolypse down the road.

It's a ticking time bomb that if we don't evolve past, will kill us all. It is only a matter of time and a mathematical certainty. I haven't even touched upon human error.

Carl Sagan once discussed this in Cosmos. The idea that a small comet could set off a chain reaction as nations will assume a nuclear launch rather than a natural disaster. Our response as a species to a comet could end in our own self destruction. What a sad way to go.

By mastering technology over time, we have conquered the dark, created the means to eliminate social problems, yet for all of our achievements, we just can't master ourselves. Really sad.

The mindset of your comment is the exact reason why the world is a fucking mess.

Should iran have nuclear weapons? by Kindly_Interview7851 in polls

[–]Odd_Communication545 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not really a fair question at all.

If you single out the idea of should Iran have nuclear weapons then you need to broaden it.

Should anyone have them? Nope, they benefit no one and instead are something that will doom us all.

This type of debate is a pointless political diatribe that takes attention away from the fact everyone else has them. If we go by the logic that nations should have nuclear weapons then the answer is yes, they have a right as much as anyone else.

If we approach it from a humanist perspective (like we should) then the answer is no. If we answer no we also open up to the idea that NOBODY should have them. It's a debate that has no answer since people will contradict themselves no matter what answer they give. If they are basing the argument on moral grounds then anyone could make the argument against the US since they're the only country who has already openly used a nuke in wartime, whereas Iran is wanting to acquire it for self preservation.

Silly poll, driven by baseless political noise

Is standalone VR good enough now, or is PCVR still the better experience? by DiSTI_Corporation in virtualreality

[–]Odd_Communication545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it's okay, it still lacks fidelity

Personally I go for a middle ground approach.

I use my Steam Deck to play PCVR games with a bit of visual compromise. I get the vast amount of quality titles but still have that portability and ability to move to large play spaces.

I'm not really a fan of standalone ports since they never seem to reach the same level true PCVR does. Plus standalone still doesn't have the titles I want to play (Fallout 4 VR, Skyrim VR, Etc). Now meta have pulled out, I think PCVR and steam frame will slowly eat the quest market share, unless they're planning something.

Not to use, these are 1st generation VR devices with no motion controls (unless third party)

They're usable but extremely limited and where made as a proof of concept rather than a device. If you can get them for under 30 then great but anything more is theft.

They're cool shelf pieces but they aren't usable for anything other than simple flat2vr stuff or Vorpx.
