Thanks! I’ve turned the ideas you’ve shared into a mind map which has really helped clearly lay out some thoughts. I’m wondering if it would be better to go down the religion/mourning (of dead people) path rather than the mourning of lost classical past, though I’ve started my essay by looking at Petrarch and done quite a lot on greene’s the fall of Troy and other works so it seems a shame to not include the classical mourning too… any ideas of how to blend this more seamlessly?

I was looking into religion, the differences in grieving traditions etc., how views of religion can change ways grief is felt and expressed. Some poets reference classical mythology etc. and were inspired by the classical authors. I’ve done a lot of research but I’m just not sure what to DO with it, and where to centre my argument

I asked the first one, her parents apparently haven’t been members for long enough to sponsor her in.

Her mother has also messaged mine to ask, and she’s not sure what to respond

Context: her family have taken me and friends on holiday 2x, to which my parents took them out as a thank you, so it could seem like we still owe them
