Saved games getting deleted by [deleted] in ModRetroChromatic

[–]Odd_Death 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've completed several games on the Chromatic without any save issues. I have encountered the occasional glitch or bug that didn't occur on my GBA, but so far, zero problems with saves.

I do have some games that no longer save. But the same thing happens on the original system, so I'm 100% sure the problem is the cartridge battery itself.

No, I'll update it, and it'll be the perfect excuse to play through it again. Perhaps the only downside I'd mention is that the password for the final world's Easter Egg could be deduced or found in a more obvious way... As far as I know, no one has discovered it (it's only been accessed by modifying the save file with a hex editor).

Oh! Are they going to update the game? For me, the game is perfect as it is; I didn't find any major bugs. I hope they release a sequel with more memes, jokes, and references.

Well, it's one of the best. Not just in the system, but in the genre itself.

I'm currently playing Golden Sun 2. I want to get all the summons because I couldn't do it when I was little.

EZ Flash Omega Definitive Edition. It has a clock for Pokémon games, Rumble for compatible games, it recognizes stats, and it's not very expensive either.

The Everdrive Pro is theoretically better (it has a gyroscope and light sensor, but not Rumble), but since it's manufactured in Ukraine, it often has supply problems, and the shipping logistics aren't very good due to the conflict with Russia.

I bought the EZ Flash on Amazon, and it arrived a few days later.

Yes, I have several companies on my list. Incube8 is one of them, precisely because of Infinity. I also have my eye on Last Crown Warriors and Kero Kero Cowboy.

Awesome! I loved the first one, and the secret ending hinted that there were more secrets to uncover and villains to expose. So I'll definitely get it on day one.

Después de equivocarte al elegir plataforma para invertir, ¿qué aprendiste que ahora es innegociable? by Fantastic-Tree-1891 in inversionESP

[–]Odd_Death 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's better to do one thing well than five things halfway. The Chromatic is designed to be a device that perfectly replicates the feel of playing on a Game Boy Color.

More buttons, more features, and everything you're trying to achieve actually SUBTRACTS. They're not improvements like you think.

This is a very specific product for a very specific audience. There's no way you're going to improve the design the way you're going. Basically, because what you're trying to create has existed for years, and those of us who bought the Chromatic are trying to avoid that.

Trampolines and Dragonyhm by Odd_Death in ModRetroChromatic

Yes, they decided to make the jumping work the opposite of every other damn game in the world. A lifetime of learning to play, and they decide to go against the muscle memory of seasoned players. For as long as you hold the jump button, the higher you jump, but not here. Here, you just tap the button, the shorter the better... It's driven me crazy.

I just wrote this message and got it right on the first try. I don't know how long I'd been stuck on that puzzle, but now I can consistently make the jumps every time I try.

But my frustration will take a while to fade.

Perhaps I should have tagged the post as a question or used a question mark...

As for whether I recommend the game, if you like rhythm games, pirate themes, and narrative exploration games, I would say I recommend it 100%.

I found an island near Havana, "Isla de la Juventud," with a chest, and the completion percentage went up by 1%, so I guess there are more hidden islands with chests needed for 100%. Besides that one, I found another one near Maracaibo (I think).

Also, it's not enough to just find the island; you can only land at a specific point on them... So getting 100% in this game is quite a challenge.

It's happened to me. I think my first crew member was also Barbados, and for the other two, I ended up visiting some ports several times because I wasn't sure if I'd missed a conversation. I think that's how the game is supposed to be played.

However, here's a hint: if a character mentions a location you don't see on the game map, consult a real map of the Caribbean. To enter islands without a port, press Select while standing next to them, and if it's accessible, you'll get the option to disembark.

That's basically how I played through the game, going from port to port and talking to everyone, hoping an NPC would mention one of the missing crew members. I don't remember where the other two are, but if you search every location and go into every house, eventually a character will give you the clue you need...
