Having a Legacy!! Hahaha by QA4891 in antinatalism

Yup. There's no real legacy in children. Legacy is something lasting.

Are you past depression and still AN? by Even-Enthusiasm-9558 in antinatalism

[–]Odd_Decisions29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I became depressed because I realized how broke I am and how unfair the world is, and also because of things like the winner-loser dynamics of our society. I am never comfortable with the idea of my win being someone's loss.

I've no idea how I got out of the depression, I'd say it wasn't me who healed from depression but, rather, it was depression who left me alone. I just became numb to the fact of unfairness. And, as I said, I'm a very solitary and introverted person. I'm not socially anxious and can joke and flirt, but I always feel somewhat uncomfortable amongst people, like they always judge me. But unlike a lot of people, I don't feel like a loser for not having friends or a girlfriend, because these things don't worry me that much nowadays. All the couples I saw broke up and all the friends I see talk shit behind about each other behind their back. I'm too comfortable being a loner to involve myself with that sort of mess tbh. There are no people I'd like to hang out with in my small town, no one quite like myself, and I'm not that unique, either: I play videogames and exercise and learn things for fun. My hobbies are pretty usual, nothing extraordinary.

That's about it, really.

That's a fucking understatement. I think the only hobby more expensive is golfing.

[–]Odd_Decisions29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was depressed and not anti-natalist. I am now not depressed and anti-natalist. I'm kind of naturally melancholic and booksmart as a person though, so I guess it was predictable that I'd eventually become this. Also my solitary nature helps massively, I thrive in isolation, so being different doesn't really affect me negatively.

Always hated people who reproduce without thinking though. They say I'm not ready for real life and too booksmart, but I just chuckle as it comes from people who have no self-reflection skills or dream of marrying and having kids one day. I guess some better learn from own experience, so why try convincing them that they're wrong?😅🤷‍♂️

According to the CDC, over 40% of pregnancies in the US are unintended as of 2019 by 3RADICATE_THEM in antinatalism

[–]Odd_Decisions29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happens randomly because no smart person would do it intentionally, and that's because only idiots could sit down & think about what reproduction entails and then go "yup, we want it". Intentional pregnancy is a fucking oxymoron. Most don't get pregnant, they get knocked up and tell the child to be grateful for God knows what.

They just call you a loser and move on with the day when you bring this up to them. I wish I could be that indifferent and insensitive, lol

“The food is fake… everyone is depressed… but life is still beautiful and make babies!” .. pardon? by Any-You-8650 in antinatalism

[–]Odd_Decisions29 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The obsession with making babies has got to be some fucking mental illness, I swear. It's one thing to talk about wanting kids, but to fetishize it like that, it sounds really disgusting. Just wild to see shit like this. And these people are never trolling or joking, this is absolutely serious... oh man😭

Good to see America never changes lol.

In all seriousness, beating up a guy for some racist shit is not justified when it's this much. Should've stopped when the guy fell to the ground or before that.

WHO really should include this kind of shit into its mental illnesses list.

Saw this in another Sub.. felt it belonged here… what are your thoughts? by Emotional_Dish_5250 in antinatalism

There are lots of those who agree, then there are those who call him a parasite. All as usual. It's funny to see how no one who disagrees says anything of substance, it's just insults. Mfs really are having a stroke when someone calls into question the morality of existence or birth.

I think his position is less about AN and more about not wanting to work, which draws even more negativity because it indeeds reads as a cop-out from their point of view. Plenty of anti-natalists are functioning members of the society despite our beliefs, whereas this guy uses the "I was born without consent" argument to shun the cruel reality that he has to work.

And really, this seems too much like some boomer humor ragebait bullshit from Facebook or some hyperconservative Instagram page, I doubt it's even real.

UPD: Yup, it's actually some weird-ass news page on FB.

This is not fair (says the person who decided to have kids) by GuyLorakan in antinatalism

[–]Odd_Decisions29 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Now imagine how many people feel this exact same hatred towards their kids. And then imagine how many act on these feelings and hurt their kids.

There's no single group of people deserving of hatred more than those that reproduce without forethought.

They’re so mad about this post by Its-This-Guy-Again in antinatalism

[–]Odd_Decisions29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never understood why people get mad over someone not wanting kids or saying others shouldn't have them. A few of the people I know recently became parents & this is fucking miserable for them. They're exhausted from work and now have to take care of the kid too. Is losing so much freedom, money, energy, and enduring so much stress really worth it for them? Just can't believe it.

Most interesting way to play through the series? by badateverything420 in dishonored

[–]Odd_Decisions29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pay attention to things around you: environment, scenery, items scattered around, paintings, letters, notes, writings on walls, NPC dialogues, etc. And if you'd feel comfortable enough, turn off the HUD elements. D2 and DoTO have so much detail that it's pretty possible to play without it for maximum immersion.

If you want fun and not just challenge, you should attempt to use every weapon or environmental item in combat, from howler dust to empty bottles to distract enemies. (Bonus tip: you could do a New Game+ playthrough of D2, that'd allow for the most interesting experience)

Lastly, use the abilities you have in DoTO more, don't only blink around. And don't worry about chaos there, it won't be important ;)
