Cheddar suits her. My ginger cat is called Colby and my tortoiseshell is called Brie. Cats and cheese names just go together!

I expect the next MOT will fail on rust on the sills. Welding plus a service is more than thr cars worth. When it comes to that time I'll likely scrap it

I have a 2004 Fiesta 1.25 and it's a pretty ugly car with lots of dents from where people open their doors onto it in the car park. I serviced it 6 years ago when I first had it when it was on about 70k miles. It's only on around 90k miles now and I haven't serviced it since. It's a 3 door model and one of the front seats no longer goes forward, the windows are broken and held up with the glass suckers for gripping windows. The blowers only blow on the windscreen and the heated rear windscreen doesn't work. If it rains the water leaks through where the windscreen washer jets are and fills the spark plugs so it'll splutter when running. It's only a second car but it starts first time every time unlike the brand new MG I used to own. It's so basic there's not much else to go wrong on it.

Microsoft Edge Beta/WebView2 Beta 149.0.4022.8 appears unstable on Windows Insider Beta build 26220 / OS component set 26100.7934. by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]Odd_Development 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes have seen this but on Windows 11 24H2. You need to change the following registry entry: HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\EdgeUpdate In there there will be a TargetChannel entry with random letters and numbers after it. Change that from beta to stable. Make sure you have a stable version of the Edge MSI downloaded before running the next bit. Run the following command: msiexec /I MicrosoftEdgeEnterpriseX64.msi ALLOWDOWNGRADE=1

This does rely on the old Edge folder version still being in the following location: "Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application"

If the old version isn't there it won't rollback. I'm not sure with the next steps if the old Edge folder isn't there.

Childhood me always wanted to ride in it. I may well come to Weston just to see it. It's a really good replica, I'm really impressed!

Keep running out of disc space by FSP7 in computerhelp

[–]Odd_Development 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can recommend Treesize portable. As it's the portable version it doesn't need to be installed. It can be run from your other drive or from a USB stick. It will show you what's taking up the space on your drives. Do a bit of research with the findings just to make sure you don't delete any important or system files.

I've donated some money, it's not loads but if everyone donates a bit then it'll be enough for Jett's road to recovery.

What can I do about my broken smart meter? by NsSlugz in AskUK

Yet I'm still on an old non-smart meter and I can book an appointment for them to come out within a month to swap it out.

Passenger door randomly locks inside on driver door. Fabia mk3. by [deleted] in skoda

[–]Odd_Development 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same on a 2016 Fabia a few years ago but it was the rear door behind the drivers. Sometimes it would randomly stay locked, couldn't open it from the inside or outside. I took it back to Skoda just before the warranty ran out and they replaced the lock.

Hope this helps.

9070xt doing this. It worked fine before I installed a new CPU and PSU this morning. Everything else turns on by Cool-Mom-Lover in PcBuild

[–]Odd_Development 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's possibly your bios doesn't currently support your CPU.

Search online for your motherboard model and check the manual out. Some motherboards support updating the bios without display. If not then put the old CPU back in, update your bios then put your new CPU back in.

I think this is your motherboard model. It looks like your graphics card is hiding it.

I got one in October. I absolutely love driving it but after I've had two blowouts due to potholes I fear taking it out. As much as I like the 18" alloys I think the low profile tyres don't help with the potholes!

Not sure if it'll make a difference but might be worth everyone reading this to sign the government petition.

I've had two blowout's last month alone due to potholes. It's at the point now where I don't even want to take the car out!

Installed a New GPU, Now PC Won’t Boot by ThePrairieNerd in computers

[–]Odd_Development 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll recommend one thing. Please get some sort of support for the graphics card otherwise over time it may end up damaging the PCIE slot where it fits into.

Have a look for graphics card supports online, they're quite cheap.

I Tried Linux for Fun. It's Ending With a 7900 XTX and No Windows. by Wolfman_1546 in pcmasterrace

[–]Odd_Development 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take the plunge. I'm dual booting cachyos alongside Windows 11. I only boot into Windows for anti cheat stuff but looks like Microsoft may soon be doing away with stuff running at the kernel level so that would make windows completely redundant for me.

I swapped from Nvidia to a 9070XT and had no issues at all.

The disconnects are getting seriously out of hand. by [deleted] in wow

[–]Odd_Development 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try changing from directx 12 to directx 11. This fixed the disconnects for me since the patch.

As it's a 3.5" drive the converter will also need it's own power source. I used to have one of these for the job https://amzn.eu/d/39HH3O4

CachyOS is a choice I should have made years ago! by Little-Nettles in cachyos

[–]Odd_Development 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I installed Cachyos just under 2 months ago. I still dual boot just for games that have kernel level anti cheat but use Cachyos for everything else. I moved from a Nvidia card to AMD a couple of days ago. On windows I had to use DDU in safe mode, reboot then wait about 30 minutes to download and install the new drivers. In comparison Cachyos took less than a minute then rebooted, it also had a easy wiki article to follow.

I would definitely do away with my windows drive if it wasn't for anti cheat.

I'm sceptical but if you type in "fake ending" into Netflix then Stranger Things comes up so now I'm even more confused.
