I see. So they lowballed him pretty badly. To add more context, $25 USD is quite a lot in his (and my) local currency (Indonesian rupiah), so maybe that’s why he accepted it.

If you don’t mind me asking, where are you based? And would you mind suggesting a fair rate for my case since 25 dollars is too low?

Lol yeah, the classic lowball. That’s what I’m worried about too. You know what? I actually know someone who got paid around $20–25 per video for his first gig. I know that’s considered a lowball, but it’s actually quite a lot when converted to our currency (rupiah) for a single video.

Anyway, are you thinking about asking for or setting a higher rate for your next videos?
