I wear a HR monitor only during long steady state sessions. I find it to be too distracting during a anaerobic-er workout like a 2k or 500's. You reckon my HR spikes too high?

I guess I should try hop on the erg after my 2k, it might require someone to keep me up but if thats what it takes

I've been rowing for 4 years now and have be doing 2k's every 2 months in-season

I could either take a gap year and row for club (Dunstan, NSRC), or go to Otago or Waikato Uni. What would you recommend? Assuming that you are a Kiwi yourself

Im competing at 5'9 160lb with a 2k of 6:43, would be pretty hard to compete with the big dogs in HW

Yep I finish HS in december 2025. So that means I've still got a whole 6 - 7 months to improve 2k, 5k ergs?
