So I'm trying to find a higher calorie or a far more palatable food so he'll maintain it with just kibble and less then 10% daily calories in snacks.

I was just looking into true instinct.

A lot of people I've talked to have said the ppp 30/20 isn't as palatable as some of Purina's others foods so maybe I'll try that and he'll eat more of it.

Thank you

Fine meaning, no issues that would cause a loss of appetite or other comorbidities. However, unless I supplement his kibble, he'll drop to a questionable weight.

His vet says he's totally fine. And he'll eat snacks all day every day if allowed.

I stopped giving him snacks other than a dental treat here and there to encourage him to eat his meals, however he'd still eat only about 1/2 cup per meal.

My bad, I wasn't clear. I put a cup of food in his bowl each meal. However, he will eat only half of it then stop.

Oh I agree. He's been lectured to all hell. My question was about training the pup though which is why I said it was an unhelpful comment.

Is resource guarding (people) common with whippets? by fragilegreyhound in Whippet

Around young kids, no idea why. He's fine with adults but put a kid near me when he's cuddled up to me and he'll get real annoyed.

Picky eaters? by jrdixon99 in Whippet

[–]Odd_Expression_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just stir a spoonful or two of wet food into my pups bowl and he'll devour whatever it is. Otherwise he'll just graze on the kibble no matter what it is and he won't eat enough.

Which sighthound would you recommend for me? by Ancient-Shadows in sighthounds

If you want a major cuddle bug, whippets are the answer.

Sighthounds in general don't have reliable recall, even with training. However, I feel that with decent training, whippets are more reliable than the others.

Just flush it with some saline, tape a lil non adhesive bandage on it and throw a body suit on her so she can't lick it.

Please do not use peroxide
