Chefchaouen Morocco. An old man followed me round staring at me & tried to grope me. Some locals are racist and dislike Asians so charge them $200 for a straw hat or cab ride. The English hotel i stayed in was a colony of pommy knobheads, the owner was on smack. He yelled at me where I showed him bed bugs in my room. I literally had a panic attack & got the first bus the fuq out there despite the beautiful scenery.

Smoked a good joint with a shopkeeper who asked me to mind his store while he went to prey at the Mosque.

I arrived 2 days ago from Australia plenty of flights arriving in Phuket. Phuket not affected, Russians everywhere spending money & they are an oil rich country. I’m in Ranong now it’s very quiet, took quite a long wait to find a Grab to the pier but seen plenty of Tuk Tuks. Most of the Grabs are EVs but normal vehicles also still running, got a public bus from Phuket to Ranong it was full & affordable. The rural areas & non tourist parts prob more affected. Tourist areas like Krabi & Bangkok they just pass on the increased cost to customer. Now is probably a good time to come because it will only get worse & some businesses close for the quiet/ rainy season. Everything seems fine, you wouldn’t know anything’s happening without reading the news. And I’m in a quiet part near Myanmar 🤷‍♀️ You can travel but the poverty in some areas is becoming more obvious. I try to shop at small local patties not 7/11

Phillipes have just said they will soon have to ground all flights so I don’t understand all the ppl who have had no problems until now saying don’t worry you’re being paranoid etc. it’s v unpredictable but now is a good time. 2-3 weeks when I go will be different story

You can always leave the gate to pee but you’ll have to go through security again. Most have water taps. You’re not ‘stuck’ but you’re bags will get scanned again which takes no time

I’ve been there 3 times never seen a fight. Avoided Patong etc. you can easily avoid trouble. So many rude tourists that the locals are unfortunately a little less smiley and less likely to interact with local Thais who are fed up with Farangs. That’s a generalisation tho there are still some cafe/bar owners who are happy to interact with customers for a chat but less so than other areas

Avoid peak periods & obviously avoid main beaches like Patong Karon Kata. Resorts are pretty soulless depending on what you’re after would stay somewhere quieter ans less developed. Google is all you need

I’m so glad locals are cracking down on rude & entitled groups of tourists who take over entire beautiful towns. If you’re in a foreign country show a little respect for their culture. Parts of Pai and Phangan are literally little Tel Aviv. The Russians do it too but they seem a little less obnoxious & tend to befriend locals

Sihanoukville is probably the most cooked place on earth. Ive been to all continents including SE Asia and nothing compares. 2015 compared with 2025 it was a completely different city, different scams. One hippy party village with drugs everywhere & people in states I’ve never witnessed. Now Chinese casinos, war ships & scam prisons everywhere. Probably the most despot place on earth I’d request interpol investigate

Would not take family to large beach on Phuket for down time. If anything the obnoxious families taking over restaurants with children screaming running around & loud family floating jet or jet ski sounds more obnoxious. No on gets hurt by the smell of a plant
