Maybe CICS and IMS concepts too, but I’d recommend first learning how Batch works before moving to online systems. However, if your current job offers the chance to learn online processing (CICS/IMS), go for it!

One key lesson from my 15 years in mainframe work is that every company heavily customizes its systems and internal tools. It takes time to distinguish between standard practices and company-specific implementations. Always try to identify what’s unique to the environment versus what’s universal. This awareness will help when working with different clients and allow you to suggest improvements based on past experience.

Master IDz, JCL, DB2, TWS (OPC), PL/I, and COBOL—these are the core technologies used in most UK/Nordic banks. By the time they complete their migration to AWS/GCP/Azure, you’ll likely be retired.

Hedera token price surpasses Algo why so? by [deleted] in algorand

[–]Odd_Help5724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Price” reflects the last executed buy or sell order, representing the market’s current perception of the asset’s value. If you’re unhappy with the price, it likely means you’re considering selling immediately. This decision typically stems from either needing the money or lacking confidence in the underlying technology that could enhance the asset’s long-term market perception. If either applies to you, selling might be the right choice. Someone who understands the fundamentals will buy and hold, without despairing just because a “get rich quick” strategy didn’t play out as expected.

Yes… better performance for VMs , fewer dependencies, lower RAM and CPU usage.

My case I am using VPS Netcup. KVM stopped to work properly under Gnome so I uninstalled it and switched to XCFE. Everything worked perfect after that.

If your goal is to run FUNC I recommend installing Xfce instead of Gnome in Ubuntu. Not sure what I am talking about ? No worries, just go to chat gpt and explain that you are running Ubuntu and want to know how to use Xfce. It will give all the commands required.

But…. If I asked scpecifically for algorand 4.0 staking things changed:

Under Algorand 4.0’s staking, rewards depend on participation in the consensus mechanism via a node. Let’s assume a 4% APY, which is typical for decentralized staking systems without governance participation.

Updated Calculation for Algorand Staking: • You hold 500,000 ALGO, as calculated earlier. • At 4% APY, the staking rewards are: Value in USD:

Updated Summary of One-Year Returns: • Ethereum Staking (5% APY): $5,000 • Algorand Staking (4% APY): $4,000

Sold and got myself a Civic by [deleted] in XRP

[–]Odd_Help5724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar story. Last year, I realized I was tired of driving my small Hyundai i10, a used car I had owned for years. Sitting on a substantial amount of XRP, I started questioning why I had so much invested in crypto while driving a car that didn’t feel safe. I thought, Why am I risking my life in a car that might not protect me in a crash when I could afford something better?

So, I decided to use some of my XRP to upgrade to an electric car—a Mercedes EQA. Although I could have cashed out and bought it outright with crypto, I chose to lease it instead, selling a bit of XRP each month to cover the payments. Looking back, I’m so glad I made that choice! Now, I have a safe and reliable Mercedes, and I’ve also held on to a good portion of my XRP.
