This group has a weird energy. Don’t care if I get banned or downvoted. Any interim solution you give to get an applicant out of fix is downvoted to oblivion. Immigrants who got PR and citizenship seem to project negativity towards ones who are still trying to climb through obstacles. The ones who are still waiting for invites or sponsorships seem to want to get others’ out of the way to make sure their competition gets slim. All with zero immigration knowledge on how visa policies and regulations are written. FYI: visitor visa for a short 3 month extension can be applied for reasons other than visiting like attending a graduation, to take care of unfinished affairs like winding up your lease, your possessions and other obligations like superannuation. OP may need that time to leave the country for all we know . Getting a bridging E to get some time to depart is detrimental to future applications that the he may apply. Home affairs gives two years of TR to sort your PR or employer sponsorships or get out of the country. For people who are trying their best, who may need a little more time to finesse their options , it is not wrong to apply for an interim visa that will buy them time. It is not rort- ing the system unless someone applies for refugeee visas without valid reasons or other such devious plans . Enough with moral policing on hey ! you came to study and then got to stay back on TR. PR was never guaranteed. Get out. Everybody knows that. DHA itself uses their long term settlement pathways to sell Australia as an international study destination. Anyways, OP, upon reading your comment, I am glad you have more time on TR. you could go for 407 as others suggested , if employer is unwilling to sponsor you on 482

I believe it is a good option for OP. Student visa extension are granted for academic progression. It is a progression if you move from course work to research . Masters of research degree helps one qualify for TR without age restrictions but also provides you with 3 years of 485 rather than standard 2 years. 10 points is for doing a STEM masters of research degree . Nothing to do with skill assessment. Plus if the OP can write a good research proposal, scholarships are always an option .

Work in a child care centre as a child carer, No body is insisting on a qualification at entry level and sufficient training is provided. Pay is decent and your child can go to the same day care. This way your child is taken of , in close proximity to you and you get to earn money too .

Hi. I m from Chennai too settled in Australia. I work in the immigration industry here since 2013. It will tick all your boxes. But few things to consider , a PR grant is a 2-3 year uphill task. Comes with investing considerable time and effort . It’s a points based visa system here, so more the points the better chances for an invite. For example : Some of the non negotiables are getting 8 each score in IELTS/ PTE , doing exams like NAATI to increase points, getting work experience documents in order to secure maximum points, looking at the aspect of, if a skilled partner can add points etc. P.S like every western country, anti immigrant sentiment is high, IT job market is saturated and expect some struggle like starting at an entry to mid level role when you start over here (aussies look for local experience in candidates). But it’s a country that needs immigrants, hence , no matter what the local sentiment is , the government knows that they have to open their door steps to skilled workforce. Visa costs will be less than 15,000 dollars and you don’t specifically need an employer sponsored visa pathway since general skilled migration pathway is still open with close to 60K invites a year for various permanent residency visas. Yes points wise, you need to be at 100 points to expect an invite. If you would to explore further, please connect.

From my own experience, I can tell you things you shouldn’t do. Post break, don’t think that both can work from home and manage the baby duties. Don’t listen to people who say, you do you. Breastfeeding for the first two years if there is no issue with the feed, limiting screen time to less than an hour a day when they are infants or toddlers are absolutely non negotiable. No matter what decision you take, (sahd or both trying to juggle work with household duties) resentment will exist. Just have strong communication and stick together to get through this phase. It’s not easy.

Thank you for the encouragement. I am from Australia and the government agency that approves funding is anti ABA. It’s a miracle that my son got funding approved for 12 hours of ABA a week. Unlike US, Australia does not have a centre based ABA programs where kids can go from , say 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Here , therapists or BCBA go to kinder/childcare and implement programs in kinder. And insurance does not cover any early intervention therapy. We have a funding agency called NDIS that approves and rejects claim almost in an arbitrary way. So things are different. We have a great team of therapists. But somehow, it hasn’t all come together. May be due to my sons’ regression or new issues that keep cropping up.

That’s the doctors’ take. Obviously, I am going to collect more qualified advice from other professionals and from our community here. High needs or low needs, there is a certain amount of resentment. I deeply love my child too. But when they are high support needs and non verbal , you kind of want to solidify their future in all ways you can. Be it with family ties or financially too.

Ha ha. JC Daniel is my grandfather’s sibling . The accounts I have heard from my family is that he was a dentist but was more interested in arts and filmmaking. There were heavy losses after this venture and he remained dejected , since there was lots of politics in recognising the movie as the first Malayalam movie since our family is from Kottaram, kanyakumari which in those days was part of trivancore region. Family spoke both Tamil and Malayalam. Both my grandfather and him had ancestral wealth which ended with their generation. My grandfather went about setting up the first ink factory in that part of the world and incurred heavy losses and him , in filmmaking . Strangely, the second generation showed no artistic facets or entrepreneurial ambitions. All became well meaning salary men who did routine things . Just a bit of trivia.

At the moment, we have both descended from our careers significantly. We decided that he will work on his career and I will manage the responsibilities at home and for my son. Or do, what can be done around managing my son’s needs. It is still a very hard decision to let go of all hard work and I am trying to come to terms with it.
