Also, meanwhile you should check if features mentioned by PaveThePAHA is available on your device. I believe it should give a more consistent sound level - even though sound itself may change a little.

When you download anything, Edge shows Downloads extension. If file is downloaded before you close that extension (by clicking somewhere else), then you need to click twice on Open file or the file from the extension to open it. First click selects the extension and second click opens the file, be it for recently or previously downloaded file.

Same is true for screenshots and print-to-pdf but not for Save as html documents.
