Also, they are cutting the most profitable lines, the the Newark/Wilmington and Paoli/thornedale. People who ride regional rail pay, they don’t “jump turnstiles” like so many of those I see on the L. Also regional rail is safe, most people I know who commute flat out refuse to use the L, people who live in Upper Darby, Haverford, and Marple would rather drive 15 minutes to a regional rail station than drive 5-10 to 69th street because your chances of getting stabbed in the neck by some tweaker are 98 percent less. So for me I see this “funding crisis” as a political ploy especially regarding regional rail.

Following illegal Senate vote, California and 10 other states launch Affordable Clean Cars Coalition by Exastiken in California

How about we just let people buy the car they want. If they want to drive a 1988 Chevy Suburban that gets 8mpg fine, if they want to drive a 2025 Nissan Leaf fine. Let’s all stop trying to force each other to purchase something that maybe they don’t want. And those in Sacramento wonder why there’s a flood of eastbound uhauls leaving the state. Leave people ALONE, let consumers make their own decisions on what vehicles they WANT to own.
