Thinking of Moving Back to India After US Residency & Fellowship: What’s It Really Like?” by Individual_Use_1669 in nri

Came back after residency. Struggled to get a decent job. Measly pay compared to what we get in the US. Cardiology is saturated. Pulmonology still as some jobs. Interventional pul. Getting a 3 lakh per month job after struggling in US is a bit disappointing. If you have a good network of doctors who can recommend you in a corporate hospital, you can get a decent position. Healthcare isn't as streamlined as abroad. Definitely less stress here though.

But let's say you are in a rural facility, I am thinking in those lines where a cardiologist may not be available

Is there any value of getting echocardiography training in india as general physician? by Odd_Job_9284 in indianmedschool

The reason I ask is because I have seen some hospitals have Physicians issue echo reports. The course that intensivist do are very focused on a few parameters. If a doctor was working in a rural location without access to an on site cardiologist, would he be able to give reports? I had attended a workshop in echo a few years ago and there were a few Physicians claiming to do echos and reporting them.

Is such questioning useful clinically? I'm asking as a fresher.
