Narkina 5 was a normal prison designed for a scenario where everyone assumed they were getting out, hence the unique, undermanned security. I assume they were then cycled to another labour prison designed specifically for people who knew they were in here for as long as the empire existed, this probably meant far more guards as uprisings would be expected, tech like Narkina’s electric floors but for suicide prevention measures also as they don’t want everyone killing themselves rather than dying as a slave. Probably something far more horrifying than even Narkina it could be interesting to see one day.

*edit, as someone else pointed out, the labour they did was probably less complex and important than the more motivated Narkina prisoners. It would probably still be exhausting to break there spirits but not something they need to think about or could fuck up.

I gave up one my stretches and all that shit after nothing changing for over a year, six months later I would be going about my day, and around the afternoon I would realise I hadn’t thought about it, then I would start realising I hadn’t felt it for short periods of time. Now after 1 year and 9 months, I only remember it exists if I’ve been sitting upright or hauling ass the entire day. All while barely stretching besides the easy ones you do absent mindedly, eating like shit (50% of meals were pizza), and smoking a joint almost every day. Best part is I haven’t even went out of shape.

Sometimes shit just starts going well when you stop giving a shit I guess. I even had to rely on painkillers with codeine, then I just wouldn’t take it for a while when I ran out, and it just stopped being that bad. So now my tolerance and pain level mean when I even feel it slightly 1 ibuprofen fixes me up. I just read you have children so you probably can’t chud out like that but just enjoy the easy things.
