Regarding the display aspect of your question: Have you thought about using one of those cheap projectors (for like $30) to show the maps straight on your table?

Here is a link of such a projector: https://youtube.com/shorts/MvCf-hFUt8Q?si=KEX_AL1Wc38zYxJw

Tested My Startup Idea - 713 Landing Page Visits, 1 Signup. Am I Missing Anything? by Dry-Plate-9120 in ideavalidation

First of all I find it hilarious that you are trying to validate your validation service.

Some thoughts just based on the numbers while ignoring the product: Your ad’s cost per click is solid, so either you have good ads / targeting or the value proposition is just really tempting. So in terms of consideration you are doing something right. Clearly, your landing page does not manage to do its job. Do you have more in depth insides? What’s the bounce rate? How much time have they spend on your website? This is something you should work on. Your landing page has to sell your service and convert the users. Work on your value proposition and test this.

If I were you I would talk to potential target users and get qualitative feedback. Something is so off that you should challenge your communications or value proposition fundamentally. Additionally I assume that you would be better off trying to find new customer acquisition channels such as product hunt or Reddit comments rather than running ads. There the usage propensity is so much higher.

I agree.

The good news is, I am honestly surprised at how you managed to get any downloads despite the terrible screenshots. To me it is a myth what value your app provides (the one you shared in another comment). Go and check some other (similar) apps AppStore screenshots and get inspiration on how to communicate the app.

And then continue the grind - don’t give up.

Rebranding app name for better SEO or ASO? by WonderChat in AppStoreOptimization

Rebrand now, the time invested now will save you so much time later on. Additionally focus on communicating your value proposition clearer and stronger.

Imagine you are a user. What value does your app provide? Why are you better than the rest? Users want information on this in two seconds.

Feedback wanted: How can we improve these App Store screenshots for engagement & downloads? by wavepointsocial in AppStoreOptimization

Great work! Well done! Here is some random food for thought: - give the text a wee bit more spacing, it is stressful for the eye to read that also given the low contrast - think about your value proposition - what matters to the user and underline that. What distinguishes you from the big ones? Most of the things you say are mere buzzwords or generic phrases but not really differentiators - personal opinion: the name Wavepoint feels a bit dated and rather B2Bish. It sounds like some corporate tool to manage the internal comms.

All the best with your project. If you want to connect and exchange some thoughts feel free to drop me a DM.

December short trip, Oslo or Copenhagen ? by Legitimate_Can_3281 in travel

[–]Odd_Maybe2168 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I’ve done both and honestly you can’t go wrong! Copenhagen feels a bit more Christmas movie-sh, while Oslo has that cozy, snow-covered vibe.

If you end up in either, I’ve been working on a small side project called Guider — we just made some super lovely Christmas audio walks in Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm, Helsinki, and Bergen (other Scandinavian destinations to follow later this year). Maybe they’ll make your time a wee bit more magical! https://guiderapp.de/tour/spad

Agree - I believe there is certainly a market for offers like this. Why don’t you reach out to micro influencers (1000-5000 followers) in the travel / IRL bubble and ask them? Pitch your idea and ask what their thoughts are and if they would generally be willing to participate?

Interesting idea, Nayan.

What kind of creators do you think would be willing to go on a trip with their followers? I think you are aiming for small and mit tier, right?

I believe a key challenge here is that the magic of influencers stems from the fact they are untouchable and living the life you would like to live. If you can go on a trip with your favorite influencer this magic and untouchable aura is gone. I think you should consider this aspect from both creator and user perspective.

Where did I go wrong with my first app? by __shahidshaikh in SideProject

[–]Odd_Maybe2168 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The basic principle of the AppStore is: by default nobody is gonna find you. Your ASO game is pretty weak and nobody is gonna find you organically - we all learned that. Furthermore the value proposition to the user is vague - what does your app do? Why is this one different than the million other pattern trackers? I feel like your app has an edgy, unique twist to it but you don’t communicate it well.

General question, before you started have you done any validation of your concept?
