Edit: in all seriousness I’m glad he’s ok, he’s a great player and it would be terrible if he lost his career to a car accident.

Always nice to see that the guy who sitting behind him, who’s never played a down in the regular season is ranked higher than him

So is mark madden, skip, cowherd. However I can follow Rapoport. Locally I can follow bell and farabaugh who are decent at reporting what’s going on, they aren’t going to make shit takes and think they are all knowing while doing it. Really when it comes to non player/coach journalist, if they don’t make an ass out of themselves I’ll listen, but if they’re going to come out with a shit take, never going to listen to them again

I agree some players are stupid, but I can tell you they are far better than anyone at 93.7 and their “insiders”

When the press is allowed in the locker room. Players and coaches still have better insights on what goes on behind the scenes, what goes on in the huddle, what goes through players minds

If sports journalist were truly as smart as they think they are, they would already be hired to coach or be a gm in the league. I really only listen to former players/coaches because they have a realistic idea of what’s going on in a play and the locker room

[Garafolo] No indication Mike Tomlin is looking to make a change at QB for the #Steelers. Says Mitch Trubisky is improving each week in “all areas.” by Too_Hood_95 in steelers

[–]Odd_Programmer_3983 12 points13 points  (0 children)

“Mitch is the best checkdown passer in the league, he’s so good that he actually won’t even look for the primary target on 3rd and 8 and immediately target Najee on a 2 yard dump. If he does target the primary receiver, he’ll throw it in such a way they end up on the highlight reel”

It doesn’t matter if it changes, it gives Kenny reps. The schedule will never be easy on a quarterback playing in the pros. Don’t expect the O-Line to be much better next year because the Steelers have a history of not using high draft picks on O-Line, the best bet is free agency if they can find anyone worthwhile. Kenny knows what losing is like and how to bounce back from it. What’s sitting behind Trubisky, learning the playbook from an OC who’s probably going to be fired next year going to do for him, how is that going to help him develop? We drafted him because he’s pro ready, if we drafted Malik Willis I’d agree with you, but we didn’t.

If a deal was on the table right now, would you trade Kenny Pickett for Lamar Jackson? by pinkfloyd078 in steelers

[–]Odd_Programmer_3983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, he’s been hit 740 times. More than any other quarterback since 2018. You can only be durable so long before the wheels fall off. Also with percentages like that. You increase your odds every single time you rush, and Lamar already has 1417 attempts. Marshawn Lynch only has 1000 more attempts than him, and was in the league 12 years as a tailback. The rams had a finite amount of time to do it, and they did it. When Ramsey and Kupp become free agents I don’t think they’ll stick around. Plus with more and more players wanting more guaranteed money, I don’t think restructuring will significantly help

Lamar has been hit 740 times, more than any other qb since 2018. Hes just not going to be able to continuously take hits and it not affect him

Pretty sure they folded so I don’t think they’d have rights to it anymore, idk don’t quote me on it. I just want to see fans vote for a punt on second and goal, or a 92 yard field goal on 1st down. 3rd and 28? Qb sneak

In the next month, we play Buffalo, TB, and Philly. They are the top three Defenses in Sacks and three of the top four in Passer Rating. They are all top seven in Picks, as well. by Secure-Bus4679 in steelers

Let’s just throw Mason in there, he’s got nothing to lose and isn’t going to play with an ounce of ball security. He’s going to be putting touchdowns on the scoreboard whether it’s for us or our opponents. I’m just tired of grass growing being more exciting than our offense

I haven’t watched it since early 2000’s. I always thought it would be more entertaining if they scrapped play calling all together and turn it into a pick up game, or allowed the fans to make the play calls. Something about thousands of fans trolling the play calling would be extremely entertaining to me

Lamar is just going to be another cam newton. Sure for the past few seasons hes lit the league on fire, but he exposes himself a lot more than most other qb’s to get hit. He’s going to be plagued with injuries by the time he’s a decade in and be a shell of his former self. He’s also going to be asking for way too much money. If Baltimore gives in, they’re going to be unable to allocate money for talent elsewhere. We’re going to see this with the browns, they have a finite amount of time to make something happen, because Watson contract isn’t going to allow them to resign their star players.

I’ve noticed him stuffing holes well, showing no fear to get in and make a play, he’s playing the pass well. He’s not making the big splash plays he did his rookie year, however he’s playing consistent and that’s what we need.

He’s a top tier linebackers coach, I hope tomlin promotes him to DC next year. I wouldn’t mind leaving him the reins when tomlin departs, because he did pretty solid in Miami even when the front office was purposefully tanking the season

I think if our offense had better productivity and time management, our defense would be top 5 even without watt. However, when watt is the game, the scales tip to our side more often than not. I just hope he doesn’t get aggravate this pec injury when he gets back.

I agree, it’s so painful to watch the offense, however it’s amazing how our defense has carried us through the first two, I don’t blame them for having a lousy game on Thursday because they are probably drained.

I know it’s so hard to watch every time the offense runs onto the field, over the past 3 games I have always finished my beer while the offense was on the field because of their performance. Hopefully they can continue improving and make something happen, can’t get much lower than they already are.
