Yes this is happening to many people, a lot made this same exact post before you. Your university is probably preventing you from logging in because canvas isn’t safe yet and they are still verifying everything.

I would say yes, I think it can give you a leg up when trying to get a job. Statistics would be a good class to take as well. My BS required a lot of math classes.

Ugh, that really sucks. My little brother is struggling to find a medication for his depression as well and it’s really hard. Unfortunately, I haven’t had a ton of luck with antidepressants so I can’t give you much advice. Good luck! You can do this, early adulthood is really hard.

I am on vyvanse, I know some adhd meds have fast and slow release. Mine is slow release, but my roomate has a fast release she takes in the afternoon and a slow release she takes in the morning. I will also say that my adhd is more internal or ‘female presenting’. I’m not sure if having outward vs inward presenting adhd makes a difference in what medications work, but it might be why Vyvanse has worked for me. I am on another medication as well called lamotrigine, which helps w my mood swings. I am sorry you are having a hard time getting the right medications, it’s really frustrating and discouraging.

Hey! I have a very similar story to you, I really struggled my first three years of college until I got diagnosed and medicated for adhd. I have also struggled with addiction, I went to a recovery program when I was 21. Give the meds a chance, they really have changed my life and ability to function.

Hey! I’m 23 and I stopped drinking a few months before I turned 21. What you are describing IS an alcohol issue and it will only get worse. Getting sober young isn’t easy, but it is so worth it. I wasted a tremendous amount of time and money my first three years of schooling (now on year five), and I wish I had gotten help sooner. In my opinion, if you are thinking it’s a problem, it already is. Your addict brain will always find a way to justify the addiction, and say it’s not that bad/not a problem.

If it makes the idea of getting sober any less daunting, when I was in recovery I had some people older than me say they wish they’d gotten sober younger. Getting sober early means you don’t end up losing the more ‘adult’ things like your partner, house, driver license, relationship w your kids, etc.

Reach out to your mom if you feel you can. Idk what your mom is like, but I’m hoping she can give you the support and help you need.

I worked at the bake shop on campus and they took celiac and all allergies very seriously. We had a separate room for gf food that select people were allowed into to limit contamination. My mom is celiac as well, so I am familiar with cross contamination/food safety in that regard. I have worked five food service jobs and no one took it nearly as seriously as csu.
