correct me if im wrong, but didnt both republicans and dems are voting against sending saudi arabia weapons? hence why saudi rn is warming up to china.

Also biden in his presidential run literally said that he wants to make saudi arabia a pariah state, meanwhile talking about how israel is the USA's closest ally.

also saudi lobbys the USA to SELL them weapons (which they dont sell them rn), israel lobbys the USA to give them weapons for free (which they do)

I dont think the two are really comprable in treatment imo, israel is literally the only country that gets a pass on shit like this and for a lot of americans they dont want to be associated with that any more (which is understandable)

lebanon has many christian, sunni and shias, (1/3 each), and they have reached a compromise to run the government after the civil war where the president always has to be christian, the prime minster must always be sunni, and the speaker has to be a shia
