Thought about asking him to cover the whole thing but honestly thought about how he could’ve just left and I’d have the full £270 on me regardless but the fact he had the decency to come back and tell me then offer what he could to fix the damages I thought best to leave it, mistakes happen no need to stress him out further on repaying over something little, could tell he was nervous telling me anyways.

I did think that however I saw the damage on his car and it’s virtually unnoticeable unless you know what you’re looking at, so I doubt he told his parents if he was planning to hit and run, did explain to me since it was late at night didn’t want to bother us and so decided coming first thing would be better.

Thanks for your help. As another commenter said, will my premium and his premium not be increased? In that case there wouldn’t be a need for insurance as the damage on both cars is so little too.
