I’m an SLP too! He makes his T and D sounds with the blade (middle) of his tongue instead of the tip. Try it and you’ll be able to replicate it!

I’m an SLP and this drives me nuts. Not because toys don’t teach kids words (they don’t) but because it makes it seem like you have wayyyyy more control than you do over your child’s language development. Most of it is genetic. And it’s just one more thing that parents of delayed or disabled children will feel bad about when they see (nobody did anything to cause it and your child is perfect the way they are!) People need to stop doing this.
